Im a mother off a 19 year old i am right on this mans age, a guy that goes with or looks at a 19 year old is toast to me, whats wrong with the guy!! I talked to my daughter about this today and she told me, why would i want to be with a guy thats gonna be always chasing kids or chasing a younger model. I think my girls got her head screwed on

Well, as long as the trend goes for older women/younger men, too (like Demi and Ashton) and it's not a double-standard, then it's cool. But let's face it--it's usually older men (35+) who want some arm/eyecandy he can show off who go for such young girls. It's not like men can't find great women their own age out there--but they want the body and face of youth. Which is fine, as long as they admit it and don't try to act like it's about the 19 yr old's mind, etc. And many young girls like men in their late 30s, 40s, 50s because it makes them feel grown up, safe and taken care of...
But I do believe that once in a blue moon, there are some very genuine loves/spiritual connections made between people with such a huge age difference. And I also think it's different when a woman has reached her mid 20s, is done with school, probably has her own career and personality goiong, and chooses to be with a guy in his 40s/50s... | |

i dated a lot of older men when i was in my late teens and early 20s - if anybody had tried to dissuade me, i would not have listened anyway, i just had to learn those lessons the hard way. but i've had some great times along the way, and even ended up with a younger man (well, by a year and a half, but hey...)
let your friend make her own choices, and be there for her when she needs you. otherwise, you might jeopardize your friendship, and that would be a shame. | |

Thanks for letting me vent this has got me tweaking for the past few days. Wow, I guess you put an age limit on love. As long as she's of legal age, it doesn't matter how old the other person is as long as they're of age also | |
