So, my day sucked.

First of all I have not recovered totally yet. But that is my own fault.

But then I woke up this morning by the alarm. Which sucks, because normally I wake up before the alarm, so the sounds came as a shock. I hate waking up like that.

Then I pined for Matt Baker from Blue Peter, running around in his swimming trunks through the Grand Canyon. I was so transfixed that I forgot to work.

When I did I missed my tram and I had to wait ten minutes, which seems long when you feel cold.

Finally I arrive at work, only to find the door kicked in.

Remember those Hollywood pictures where the entire place is trashed, all the cupboards emptied on the floor and stuff? That's what it looked like.

So I called the police, then waited a looong time before they arrived.

Okay, so the policeman was CUTE. Not handsome, but CUTE.

Then I had to clean my entire office and had to file a wadoyoucallit at the police station. It took 45 minutes before it was my turn.

Okay, so I was helped by the CUTE policeman again. Not handsome, but CUTE.

When that was done I was SO faint and I realised it was not the police officer, but the fact I had skipped lunch.

So at three I went for some sandwiches and then went to the office to do some actual work. And there is LOTS of work to be done when you try to produce an awardshow around an Indonesion puppeteer that HATES e-mail and sends cd-roms filled with info that runs on programs that do not exist in Europe...

Then, for another awardshow I went through around 2.000 movietitles, looking for stills.

Then, Fhunkin told me he was feeling sick and cancelled our date that wasn't really a date. Poor fella. I gave him the flu. DOn't forget to thank me, Fhunkin.

Then, when I finally thought I could go home, one of my best friends called to tell me she could really use a hug.

So instead of going home I am now at her place, riting this silly thing while she was on the phone.

So. I am sure Michael Jackson's day is worse.

This is Matt Baker, btw.

This is the current Blue Peter team and Matt is the guy on the left. He's got the cutest smile, neautiful sparkly eyes and he has an accent that makes my knees wobbly.



And I like his dog.

Well, at least Fhunkin and the policeman are cute.

My day's pretty good, so far. I just had two yummy window salesmen leave the house. I don't think I'll buy, but it was nice seeing two handsome guys exude such desperation for me. smile

Gooey, please, before you get upset with me for my relatively low star rating, please remember, I am not rating the events that you wrote about, only their presentation, style, and originality. Let me take each of those in turn.

You lost a star right off the bat by having kind of a whiney thread title. I mean who wants to read about how someone else's day sucked? Your presentation in other words was lacking. Try to get something that really grabs the reader's atention right off the bat! Lose the title and you lose your audience.

Your style: Too many short, single sentence paragraphs. You have a great story in there somewhere, but it's lost by your choppy prose.

Originality: I don't get a sense of you Gooey. You could be anyone whose door at work was kicked in and was helped by a CUTE policeman. What makes this story scream "Gooey!!!" Think about it!

On the positive side, I like the way you elaborated in subsequent posts on who Matt Baker is, even providing pictures. That shows that you really know your audience and that you know how to care for and nurture your own thread.

Gooey, you're a trip.

Ah, 9's all Dutch people want to know about it. It's the
first thing we talk about when we get to work in the
morning. We sit down at our desk with a cup of coffee,
heave a deep and depressed sigh and launch into our own
little horroscript of what happened to us last night at
home and how everything there sucks.

Then we go home at 17:00 and plunge ourselves into the
nearest chair to complain to whomever is around that our
day at worked sucked total dogscrotum.

Then we go to bed and dream of complaining some more.
It's a patriotic kind of affair for us. As long as we
complain, we know that we're still Dutch.

Blue Peter is sort of a children's program where they do
all sorts of things. It's mainly presenters doing some
funny & informative stuff in the studio, intersected
with clips and films and stuff.

You know, they show you how to make a seaworthy boat
from a toiletrole and a hairpin.
