devote a thread, my life "is this" type threads, communal threads, it all makes it uninteresting for those who just come to share thoughts on things...so you get more of the personal and irrelevant and less discussion...

i rarely *ever* post in the g/d forum anymore...theres just never anything interesting discussed...heck, i rarely post on this bb...

but hey, whatevers clever...

You have to post a THREAD. A total irreverant thread. That is still funny. I am sure you'll succeed.

Succeed. Whenever I pronounce that word I hear something else.

hehe .. no problem - for some reason, it happens to every thread I ever create ... maybe the original subject-matter is never really that interesting, or maybe I just stimulate people's minds biggrin

okay, so what, if anything, would be left to discuss since "my life is this" and "personal" pretty much eliminates any posts that include anyone's personal thoughts on anything?

Nothing much.

The usual drama.

And Jell'O.

I do not like Barbie though.

nod exactly biggrin

But seriously, I don't personally respond much, if at all, on the "devote a thread" type discussions. I did actually find HRB's thread quite interesting ... if it had been started in a different way it could have provoked a stimulating discussion which need not have got personal and may have provided the forum for an interesting debate.

I do like the funny threads, the witty threads and those that start conversations on things that interest me or things I hadn't given thought to before. I guess because of my age, I tend to comment less on topics that appeal to younger Orgers.
