If you look at that big map, I'm right where the San Diego words are, where the 8 and 805 highways meet.

The Cedar fire was started because a lost hunter shot a signal fire. The winds were so strong and it's been so dry lately that it spread like crazy and most of our firefighters were fighting fires in other parts of the state.

I think the fires have moved East of him. I'm pretty sure. I don't see a mention of his city in the news. I tried to call him yesterday and he didn't answer. I left a message.

Mission Valley is just northwest of where the I-8 and I-805 meet. Did you stay in LA?

It is Incredible. The Worse I have ever seen it !!! I live by the beach(Redondo) and you can smell the fire and see the ashes. 16,000 homes now gone from the fires. The fire department is running thin and now there is talk about letting them burn. I wish I knew a good rain dance right about now. pray

Take a look at this satelite photo of the fires.

I wore a surgical mask part of the day today.
All I needed was the blue surgical scrubs and I'd
feel like Dr. Fink.

If anybody needs some masks, I'm hearing that most
places are out. But you can get some from doctor's
offices, or hospitals. I had to go to the hospital,
so it was convenient.

This has been a very sad week for SoCal.

I heard that the masks arent the best thing to protect yourself...you gotta get a cloth or bandana and wet it and put it to your face...my allergies are killing me right now...I hate to complain considering I'm not directly threatened by the fires...but the smoke and ash in the air is affecting my health!

BE SAFE EVERYONE...whether you're in San Berdo, Valley, I.E., SD or LA and OC...please take care of yourself!

Prayers and much love...

Fellow SoCal friend...

They're not. But they're better than nothing at all. It definitely is better to wet whatever you have over your face. The atmosphere is extremely surreal out here. If you're not directly involved with any fires it's really like watching hell go on from the orange/grey glow on the other side. And I'm not being facetious when I say that.

Forgive me for saying this. I understand that the fires must be really scary and that it must be very unpleasant to fear for your life and the people close to you.

BUT

Being from Sweden I´ve got to admit that I´m a little bit jealous of you. You see, in Sweden everything works. All the buses leave on time, all the streets are clean, there is almost no crime, no diseases, no extreme weather conditions...and it´s sooo boring sometimes. Now that I´m in Canada getting sprayed by skunks and nearly blown off the road by powerful winds I´m happier than in a long time!

The world needs a catastrophy or two sometimes. It´s called adventure.

(Again, no offence intended to those of you who are really suffering from the fires)

I'm watching coverage and i still can't believe how much of socal is burning. Luckily all of my friends and family are ok with no damage.

That may come across a little selfish. I want all to be ok and safe. It just when you hear stuff like this the first thing you do is worry about friends and family.

Hopefully end to this soon edit
