I urge you all to go learn Japanese and enjoy them properly though Coz the translations in both the English dubbing and the subtitles is frequently dreadful  | |

"Anime" is just a Japanese shortening of the English word "animation". And of course there is plenty of animation from all over the world. However if someone specifically says "anime" they are usually referring to Japanese animation or ripoffs of the style. | |
