The AnimatriX

...personally, I enjoyed this SO much more than Reloaded. Although I recently downloaded a super-high definition version (higher definition than DVD) of the new Revolutions trailer, and it does look like it is gonna deliver the goods this time!

Shinichiro Watanabe's 'Detective Story' was just ULTRA cool:
like a Vermouth on the rocks with a futuristic noir-twist:

'Final Flight of The Osiris' looked gorgeous in all its CGI lushness, but sod-all story, but then again, who cared?

'Kid's Story' was good - although Im not so sure about what kind of mesage it was trying 2 send out
(ie: throw youself of the roof kids, the Matrix will save u) - kinda dodgy...

My fave though had 2 be 'Matriculated' - Peter Chung is GOD as far as Im concerned, and can do no wrong:
he SO should resurrect Aeon FluX! Matriculated was just perfect: a real LSD mind-fuck of a trip through the Matrix.

If U havent caught the AnimatriX yet - do, it's JAW-DROPPING, mind-expanding stuff.

I'm not into Anime.

I saw Final Flight in the theater, as an opener to Dreamcatcher (which sucked. Sure, Thomas Jane is HOT drooling but he was way overdressed in that one. So what if it was winter and there was a lotta snow - he should have still run around butt nekkid, if you ask me.)

Anyways, I didn't like Final Flight because it was sexist. We saw what the man saw when he was sneaking a peek at the girl but we didn't see what the girl saw when she was sneaking a peak at the guy. How lame is that?

Also, I understand that Animatrix enhances the storyline of Matrix: Reloaded? If so, that sucks. The movie should be able to stand on it's own which it did not - in my humble opnion. If I am to play Enter The Matrix and watch Animatrix in order to fully understand Matrix: Reloaded, then Matrix: Reloaded really is a failure. A good movie stands on its own. biggrin

Hence why :
A) I said I didnt like Reloaded (thought it was a crock of shit) So far up its own ass it was laughable...
and
B) Final Flight LOOKED good, but had no substance whatsoever - there is MUCH better on the DVD.

But if u aint in2 Animation (as I prefer 2 call it!) then u just wont like it period I guess.

xxx lol

The only ones I really liked were "Last Flight of the Osiris" and "Second Renaissance Pt 1 & 2".

I loved "Last Flight" mainly because of the quality of the graphics (since I'm into videogames and 3D graphics, I get a kick out of that sort of stuff) and Square did great job of this one. However, I also loved the way it tied the first movie in with the videogame and the second movie, and I loved the sexy swordfight.

As for "Second Renaissance Pt 1 & 2" - they really are fabulous. I'm surprised they didn't make them a part of Reloaded or Revolutions, they really are very good indeed.

Anyway I quite enjoyed the Animatrix, but it is very much a "mixed bag".
