The movie Snatch

It kicks ass - I wonder if Guy Ritchie already knew Madonna when he chose Lucky Star?

"Snatch" is pretty good, I agree...I loved Brad Pitts' character during the final boxing match, getting his brains beat out...only to find out--Ding! Flip! BAM!...well, you know..lol biggrin

The man truly loved his mother... cool

By the way...I saw "School of Rock" over the weekend...that movie was FAR better than I expected. I usually have a hard time stomaching Jack Black in any movie...but he was funny as hell in this one..lol smile And those kids could play their prepubescent tushes off...! If anyone sees it, stay thru the ending credits...impressive and funny to the very last image seen. nod

Oh, and while I'm at it, "Under The Tuscan Sun" was good as well (minus a hokey ending..lol). And it was FUNNY!!... lol (you can't have enough scorpion-down-the-bra scenes in my book, if you ask me...) Plus, I just love Sandra Oh... mushy Her face when she delivers her punchlines is perfection...lol biggrin

Thumbs up on all three of these...thumbs up!

I loved Brad Pitt's character, especially because it reminded me of when I lived in Ireland. I ran into a few of these "travelers" there who spoke JUST the way he did in the film! I'd just nod my head and smile... nod He did a great job with the accent--I read that even the real traveling community acknowledged that, which is saying a lot.

And that dog swallowing the ball, and giving an occasional squeak--I was dying laughing. lol

I saw a doco about Ireland and they talked to a few of those "travelers". Could not understand a word the guy was saying. I thought he must have been drunk! lol

The first time a traveller spoke to me was in a pub, so I thought I was particularly intoxicated! I thought to myself, "damn, I thought I'd picked up on the Irish accent really well, but I guess I'm worse than I thought--or more drunk!" I was quite relieved when someone explained, and my Irish friends told me they couldn't understand the guy either.

It's the weirdess accent they have. It's like a cross between a drunk and a mumbler. lol

didn't enjoy it. Ritchie's style worked okay for Two Smoking Barrels (or whatever)

but the style and theme was about 5 years late. and to follow it up with something so similar. pointless. i guess he was too young to be making movies when Tarentino was being copied left and right.
