Stopping smoking is easy, it's not starting again that's the hard part.

Or, get pregnant, it worked for my wife!

Acupuncture worked for me ... I quit around 4 years ago, from a 25 a day habit.

Good luck Moxy! smile

btw, if you're in canada, it should be pretty easy to quit smoking.

i bought a pack of canadian cigarettes on my way through from Michigan to New York, and the fucking things SUCKED! i had to smoke 3 of them to get a decent fix that was the same as what i can get off of a marlboro menthol ultralight.

they tasted like chalk and gave me the same buzz.

weak-ass shit. i'd quit too if that's all i had to smoke.

Kinda like how I felt smoking PRINCE cigarettes in Paris, Last summer. Look, everything else other than what I smoke is shit, its like finding a great fine wine.

Quit because it's both foul and dangerous. At last count, there were 5 million tobacco related deaths around the world in 2000 alone, and the figure is expected to double by 2030. Quit to live.

It's been 4 yrs since I quit--though I admit, I did have one cigarette at my brother's wedding reception after waaay too many Cosmos to drink redface

I used Zyban--prescription drug. It's covered under most insurance plans. It worked perfectly for me, and you taper off rather than quit cold turkey. It made the cigs taste awful and miraculously allowed me to move through the obsessive thinking/cravings for a cigarette. I never believed it would work, but it was like a miracle. nod

There's also the Nicotrol Inhaler (gives you hits of nicotine and satisfies the oral fixation). I was going to use that in addition to the Zyban, but it turned out I didn't need it.

i've heard that some people quit after getting that teeth whitening treatment from Brite Smile.

you're not supposed to smoke for 24 hours before or 24 hours after, and they've said that when they lit up after the 48 hours, it just didn't seem right.

Please quit! Cigarrettes are laced with arsenic so they'll light up and zillions of chemicals...cadmium is one that comes to mind that toxify your body. I don't know you but I don't want you to have that awful cigarrette smell permeating from your skin. barf

Acupuncture is a good way, I've heard many people have success with that. I've also heard good things about hypnosis. Try to pinpoint when and why you smoke...is it always after sex? when your at the computer? when your drinking? Then find something else to do with your hands and mouth at those times...

Good luck smile

Surround yourself with people who don't smoke - we're easy to find since we're in the majority. Look for healthy-appearing, neutral-smelling, relaxed people who enjoy the taste of their food, the ability to exercise, and are able to make plans beyond the age of 50 years.

i had good luck with the patch a couple of years ago, but i didn't follow thru. it was more expensive to buy the patch than cigs, so I puffed away.

this summer I had a killer case of tonsillitis and couldn't smoke, so I quit. it's been about 2 and a half months now. it's definitely hard when I'm drinking or around other smokers. u just gotta make up your mind and go for it.

the smell already grosses me out.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark
