I was driving to work and I spotted a dead dog in the middle of the street. I felt so sad seeing the dead dog. I was coming off a side street onto the main street waiting for traffic to clear and watching as the cars swerved around the dead dog. Then...I saw the dogs eyes open and the dog lifted it's head. The dog was alive!.

I rolled down my window and caught the attention of pedestrians and asked several people to call the human society or animal control and nobody acknowledged me at all!! People kept walking by and just passing this dog that was right close the crosswalk. I pulled my car to the side and went to the pay phone to call Humane society and the dog got up and limped away with blood coming out it's mouth.

I can't believe how some people treat animals like they don't matter.

That SUCKS.

Poor doggie.

Unfortunately, many people have no time for anyone but themselves and if something does not benefit them in some way, they will not go out of their way ever. And truthfully speaking, some people are just plain morons.

It's sickening how some people have absolutley no respect for animals.

It's saddening when things like this happen. It's another knock
to your faith in human nature when everybody 'walks on by'.

I can't tell you how many times I've done a similar thing. Usually I'm able to help, sometimes not. But at least I know I did what I could. I get so pissed seeing roadkill sometimes it makes me cry.

Animals getting run over is one of the few things that can get right past my emotional goalie and make me cry like a fucking infant. I had a beautiful cat run over once, and it still chokes me up to think about her...her chin was covered with blood...as were her paws...she was clearly trying to clean the blood off her face...there was a trail of blood across the road, too, as if she had been trying desperately to get back home...

Fucking bastards.

Some people don't care or are afraid to get involved. I saw a dead cat this morning on the way to work lying in the road, I swerved to avoid it. IT was definately DEAD.

This breaks my heart...Richie, thank you for stopping to help that poor dog. You have a beautiful heart and soul. I hope that someone has found him and will help him.
I do realize that sometimes it's hard to stop a car if an animal runs out at a bad time, but I've seen people who don't even SLOW DOWN!
AND, then there are the types that think of certain animals (i.e. cats, racoons and squirrels) as pests and take it upon themselves to brutilize the animals.
My sister's neighbor SHOT my little niece's cat because she was in his garden and because, according to him, 'black cats are bad luck for jews.' What an asshole.
(The kitty survived after surgery, btw, and she's fine, but still has the pellet inside her.)
