as most of you know...

i have been experiencing sever tooth problems...and was directed by a dentist that i needed 4 root canals at the cost of $ 7,137.00 ...

i am a single mother...with 2 children who gets no child support...i do not have that kind of money...shit...i dont have an extra hundred dollars to give up...at any rate...in the interest of good health...and keeping myself up...i agreed to get the root canals done at a local clinic/teaching dental place that was willing to do the work and charge according to my income.


this whole thing came as a shock to me ...as i take excellent care of my teeth...i think that teeth are very important...nothing better than a great smile ;)he also told me that i had the beginnings of periodontal disease...which would require great cleaning and some 'under the gums' cleaning as well...this process would be split up into 4 visits...another costly procedure...



this morning at 9:30...i arrived at the dentists office to buy my x-rays from them...to take over to the other clinic. since all of this has happened...the first dentist (who offered me literature on what institutions lend money for such events...even one ...that he said i could go to if ...'credit was an issue') he was not happy with me about not being able to pay the money and opting to go seek treatment elsewhere...

so...when i got to my appointment at the clinic at 10:30...i was met by the man who worked on my teeth 2 years ago...


he looked at the x-rays...said they were not clear enough and needed to take more...i said..sure...

he then came in and looked at my mouth...examined my teeth...and said...


miss davis...not only do you not need 4 root canals...in fact...you dont even have any cavities...and
there is no sign of periodontal disease anywhere...your teeth are in excellent condition...

the only thing he sees...is what i said in the beginning...

i have been grinding my teeth at night...since mom left its gotten very severe...and apparently ...i need to be fitted for a mouth guard...at a cost of $ 94.00 ...relief should come within a week of wearing this ...


aint that about a bitch ???

he agreed with the fact that if i had allowed that man to pull my teeth...i would have lost 4 perfectly healthy teeth...and suffered for the rest of my life with dentures of some kind...

at any rate...i am highly upset...

and i think tonight there will be a dentist roast here for all of you too enjoy...i know just the right one too

Is there a way to report this dentist so there's a record of this? I'm sure if he's done it to you, he's done it to others as well!

ALWAYS get a second opinion...especially if you have medical insurance that pays for it...mhmmm

oh. m'gawd...how dare that first dentist, he totally fuckin ripped you off!!!

OHMYGOD that really pisses me off...

How about a suit for pain and suffering because you could have gone to that other place and gotten your mouth piece before today, plus when he told you $7000 you put it off for a while so DAMN that really makes me mad.

he said he sold you your xrays surely there is something that says they were yours don't they transfer xrays as a professional courtesy?

I am so sorry you had to suffer all that pain med didn't help because you were still grinding your teeth at night so that adds up to something too...call legal aid or some advocate or someone there is a way to get this prick!!! I am so angry...I think I am having flashbacks from being treated bad when I was a single parent...a woman alone is a target for some people and that really sucks.
