Heh--this is a good example of how women are caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place. If she admits to alot of partners, she's a "slut", but if she admits to only a few, she's perhaps seen as inexperienced or uptight.
Another study I read about recently, showed how women answered this question differently depending upon certain conditions. They changed their answers based upon the privacy of their testing conditions (locked answer box, no one else in the room, monitored or not), so the more anonymous and private they thought their answers would be, the more honest they were. And the more partners they admitted to. BTW--I've had approximately 20 partners, Bliss...and I've been sexually active for 17 yrs. One thing I can definitely say is that I have slowed WAAAY down since my mid-20s. I was havin' fun and fucking around a lot from ages 18-25...
I think from age 25 yrs. and on, my standards and priorities and the way I view sex have changed. It's (sex) more connected to my mind and heart now.

I've lost count, but off the top of my head I know I'm around 25. And I've been active for 11 years. It's a number I'm neither proud nor ashamed of. I, too, had a few years of fun, but have settled down considerably. The thing is, if you're not really the relationship type (like me) and yet you're sexually, over a number of years you're bound to rack up a number of partners... |
