I cried in public today! but happy tears!
I bought my local evening paper today, and in it was a story of a little girl (5 years old) called Danielle, who contacted meningitis B last year. She was rushed into hospital with a raging fever and lost her toes, then her fingers, and eventually had her hands and feet amputated. She now is back home and back to school, and is living her life like she doesn't have a problem. She bosses her little sister about like she did prior to the disease hitting her so hard. She walks with the aid of false legs and eats using special gloves. I've seen the occasional updates on this story over the last year, and it was heartbreaking to read that she'd lost another part of her body and was edging near death.A fund was set up to help get her home adapted for when she came out of Hospital, and for her to get lifelike prosthetic legs when she turn 18, and it looks like they've easily got enough money for that. To think i've had people nagging me at my job on the phone today over silly trivial matters (of their own making!), really puts things in perspective. Anyway, like i said it made me cry on my way home from work, on a packed train of all things.I didn't care that people were gawping at me. I was happy! . This is one reason I'm so glad I'm gay. I can cry and people aren't going to judge my manhood or masculinity because of it.

It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind. | |
