You very well might.

The problem is that there are no answers there either... it is still merely speculation that is based upon books written by humans about things that are neither testable or provable. The study of philosophy would serve you better, as it is not dogmatic and does not prescribe punishments for disbelief or straying from the prevailing opinion.

Before this gets out of hand...it's most likely that this woman suffers from Schizophrenia and was suffering a psychotic breakdown.
A friend of mine is bi-polar and she had a psychotic episode during one of her manic phases and she actually thought her daughter was Jesus Christ.
It's very sad and I just hope that this woman is diagnosed properly and medically treated before those hicks down there give her the chair.

Right... I agree that she is mentally ill, but I also submit that ALL people who believe that god is speaking to them are mentally ill as well.

You could be right (and this is coming from a Catholic.) But, we don't know for absolutely sure. The possibility exists.

The fact that the possibility exists also means that there is a possibility that god told the killer to do what she did and that she is not lying or insane.

Scary, eh?

now THAT"S one for the big screen

It would get an NC-17 rating... there would be FAR too much violence and bloodshed for an R rating.

Why is it that it cannot be god unless it says something happy, at which point it must be the devil?

I will never be able to comprehend how people believe that shit at all. I don't believe in the Easter Bunny either.

Belief in a supreme being is not on the same level as belief in the Easter Bunny. I believe in God, because I have personally witnessed much evidence to support his existence. We all know that a giant bunny who lays eggs is really fairly unlikely (unless you personally have evidence to the contrary.

You know I respect you, Ice, but in this we just don't agree. Much of history may seem like fairy stories when viewed from a sceptical viewpoint, but that hardly invalidates them as history. In your view, the Bible reads like a fairy tale, but I've read far more fantastical tales even in modern times. We live in an age when people have flown to the moon in tin-foil covered rokets, and magical bullets take out presidents in Dallas.

We have mutual respect... biggrin

Now... I believe that god is nothing more than a GIANT Easter Bunny who allegedly hopped around creating planets, stars, life, evil, torture and pain.

The Easter Bunny made her Kill.

Sheriff: Miss, Have you been talking to the Easter Bunny again?

Woman: Yes I have. Have you seen my kids?

Growing up in the church I can tell you that it wouldn't surprise me if the many of the fanatics were battling some kind of mental illness.

This is a good point, what makes voices credible when they are telling you to do something nice but mental illness when they tell you to do something bad?
