What are the things that make you cry that you think only touch you that deeply?

(other than the obvious: death, taxes, etc.)

I had to laugh when I saw the mother on the verizon commercial getting all emotional over her son and the rat.
That's so me. It's nice to know you're not crazy sometimes.

The suffering of children makes me cry.
And prejudice. Although it doesn't make me cry it fills me with a deep sense of disappointment.

Oh, and the fact that there hasn't been a new Kate Bush album in 10 years!

seeing a cute guy wearing socks in his sandles always makes me cry, cos that's just SOOO wrong



ummm, Six Feet Under makes me cry a lot, but that's cos of death...

a few years ago there was a McDonalds commercial where a dad took his young-ish son to get a happy meal and when they got there, the son decided that he wanted a Big Mac instead...queue sappy music, queue me getting all weapy

sometimes i think about wishing i could go back in time and right the wrongs i've done to people.

but i know there are some things that can't be taken back.

whenever that crosses my mind i can't help but cry.

A NOTE FROM LUTHER'S MOTHER, MARY
Mrs. Mary Vandross speaks about her son Luther Vandross for the first time since his stroke three weeks ago...

"Since I live in Philadelphia I go to the hospital every two or three days to have a prayer with my son. I hold his hand and pray with him. Right after the stroke, he was in grave danger; it was very touch and go. But I feel that it is just a matter of time before he improves and to me, his appearance gets better daily. It's a very slow process. But I believe there is nothing too hard for God.

I'm overwhelmed by the outpouring of phone calls from people who love Luther. Jesse Jackson calls almost every day to pray with me. There is just a small group of us that are allowed to visit Luther who is still in Intensive Care. His nieces Chanece and Seveda who live in New York come every day so when I'm not there, it's comforting to know they are.

We play music for Luther all day long and we talk to him too. We play all his favorites - Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, and we play his music too. His friend Fonzi puts the new song Dance With My Father on his pillow - we play that one a lot since Luther told me that he thought that was the best song he ever wrote. In fact, right after he wrote Dance With My Father he called me and he said, 'Mama, I wrote a song for you and daddy, I'm going to bring it and see what you think.'

When I heard it, I felt like I was going to, well, scream. I played it over and over and I cried and cried. I was amazed how well Luther remembered his father, how we used to dance and sing in the house. I was so surprised that at 7 years of age, he could remember what a happy household we had. It was always filled with a lot of music. Luther's father - who was also named Luther - had a beautiful voice and he would sing and sing. That is where Luther got his gift.

Knowing how he loves this new album, I believe Luther would want it to come out now and I'm so grateful that he can get this chance. He is going to recover and when he does, I want him to be greeted with a big success story. He has to recover, he's all I have left, he's my last surviving child."

cos it was THE song that connected most with me about 4 years ago when I did a TRULY HORRIBLE thing to my boy...I'll always wish I could take that back, but can't, and this song always tansports me back to that awful time/feeling

kinda sick that I still listen to it..

things like deliberately hurting someone's feelings be it out of spite, jealousy, anger, or just plain stupidity.

i remember the look of sadness on my lover's face when i came home at 3 in the morning one night long ago. i wasn't cheating but i may as well have been. because after that, the trust wasn't there.

once you fail on someone's trust. you can't get that back.

i think about how much this person really loved me and i took it for granted.

i wish there was a way to take it back.

when i see true selflessness in a person, you know somebody helping someone for no reason other than that they are helping. I truly sometimes cry when i see this. no joke
