Why is it everywhere I go I see SBC trucks and vans and the commercials, DAMN it seems like their showing them every fifteen minutes, I wonder how much $ these commercials are costing the company?

Nod. Any service you get in your area is usualy set up by the local provider. Dsl still travels over the same line, so your local company actually "conditions" the line for dsl.
