John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John---stars of the 1978 original---will star in a third "Grease" movie,reports BBC Online.

The new project will be set in the disco era of the late 1970s,and have the story revolve around the children of the original characters.Didi Conn,who played Frenchie in the first film,is an executive producer.

The original "Grease" spawned a sequel four years later,starring Maxwell Caulfield and Michelle Pfeiffer,but the film failed to match the success of the original.




So,what do you guys think? Will "Grease" still be the word in the 2000s?

Reportedly,Barry Gibb will be involved with writing songs for this project.You know he wrote the theme song from the first "Grease" film,right?

And yeah I know Baz wrote 'Grease'. I've always wanted a Gibb vocal version of this song. Maybe a demo will turn up on their remasters which are rumoured to appear in the next couple of years.

this just sounds like a REALLY bad idea for me...it'll only work if they get some hot young stars in the movie...maybe they can use the American Idol cast?

You know what? I don't want the movie to center around a hot,new young cast! I would rather they make it like a high school reunion-type thing,with all the characters from the original (and NOT their children!) coming back for their 20th year Rydell High Reunion.

***Kenickie and Rizzo have been divorced for many years.Will they be reunited or have they both moved on?

I wanna know which characters will come out of the closet and how many of them had babies out of wedlock.
