High School Reunions

Oh my goodness. Where did the time go?

Got the invitation today.

Well it's going to be my 10 year reunion next month. So for those that have went in previous years, or those about to go this year, Was it worth it? or are you as scared as I am?

And what's up with all those damn "reminder" e-mails every day?

Okay we must be the same age as my ten year reunion is in July. I haven't decided if I am going to go.

I basically still see everyone from high school that I am interested in seeing. I mean there are a few people I would be interested in knowing what they are up to, but I am not certain I'm interested enough to spend an entire evening with, but I will probably end up going if just for the experience.

My mom and my Dad both told me that there was fights at all of their reunions. They said that people tend to slip back into the roles they played in highschool and that it lead to fights. Has anyone else experienced this?

Wow! I got another invitation from my class in TN.

I only spent my senior year here in Florida.

I might want to go to the one in Tennessee though.

My 10 year reunion would be this year too, but I haven't seen an invitation. (Class of '93 DOES rule!) Even if I get one, I know I won't go. I already keep up with the poeple I wanna keep up with, and with a graduating class of almost 700 people, I probably wouldn't know who anyone else is anymore anyway. High school was lame anyway.

Well, speaking as a current high school student, I can say that when the time comes for a high school reunion, it is highly unlikely I will attend as of now.

The way I figure it, they'll be a handful of people I even care to stay in contact with. I don't like the rest of the people I am forced to interact with every day, I don't desire to see them now, and I seriously doubt any passage of time, be it 5 years, 10 years, or 100, will make me want to see any of them again.

But that's just how I feel. biggrin

Knees, shins, and if you fell on your ass..there too.

neutral

I really wouldn't go if we had a reunion. It was strict, I didn't enjoy it.

Go! Reuniting with old familiar faces is fun. I went to my 10-year reunion (Michael Jordan was there with Juanita!) and I helped organize my 20th. I had a ball at both. nod

For me, The exception came last night when I recieved my reunion invitation for my high school that I attended in Tennessee.

Being from Tennessee, I went to school with that class since kindergarden. It wasn't until my senior year of highschool that I moved to West Palm Beach, FL.

Talk about culture shock.

Anyway, that was 11 years ago. I didn't spend enough time here, then, to make life long friends, except maybe two or three.

Since then, I haven't been back home to TN much, maybe once every other year for about a week at a time and that's to see family.

That classmates.com site gives you a little background on each student without becoming a 30 something dollar member, and from what I've seen, I'm one of the few that made it out of that town without joining the military.

I would, however like to re-visit some old friends. But I still don't see an initiative unless the yet to be dated class reunion falls on my family reunion the first week of July.

If that happens, my already planned trip will make a pit stop. It will be the highschool's 100th class year as well.
