Gross TV Shows

Okay listen - I don't normally watch this show, but when it first came out I watched a couple of episodes. My Feet Are Killing Me. They were just pulling rogue toenails or whatever.

But I've dug deeper into the 4 seasons, watching about three or four episodes, where it's just gruesome surgical procedures, digging into flesh, cutting bone, all sorts of gross feet issues that people face because of mutations, genetics, accidents, or whatever.

So - my question is: Do you watch a gross TV show? Something with surgical procedures, bloody, etc? I'm not grossed out by the show, but digging into a foot with a knife can be intense. I'm just curious who finds some sort of satisfaction in watching shows like this, even on rare occasion.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I have a very low tolerance for things like that so I'm one of those people who avoid those kinds of shows like the plague. I even have to turn the ads for those shows off. Everytime an ad for something like that comes on I turn my television off.

These are the reasons for huge traffic jams in Germany.

When there is an accident on a major road, people will slow down just to take pictures of the possibility of carnage.

Even the oncoming side of the road will have this hinderance.

So, that said, "GROSS" is what an average human wants to see.

I think that is gross unto itself.

It's humanly gross to take pics of carnage or dead people rather than offer assistance.

How about a very disgusting TV show? Something involving incisions, blood, etc.? Although I don't find the program particularly revolting, I will admit that plunging a knife into one's foot may be quite a frightening experience. I'm merely wondering about the people that sometimes find enjoyment in these programs.

It's like asking, "how can a doctor plunge a knife into someone's foot." Everyone's different. It's why mukbang exists, or anything else that people love to look at.

My palate can only tolerate so much bloodiness. I'm less reactionary to actual medical procedures than to gory horror movies, by miles. Still my threshold is probaby lower than most ppl. It's more my conception of the pain involved moreso than the sight of actual blood. Bones cracking and tearing flesh are more cringey.

I think it was M. Night Shyamalan that said the rating for The Village was originally R-rated. The MPAA wanted the sound of a cracking bone taken out in order to get a PG-13 rating, which MNS did. He wanted to leave it in but he didn't want the R-rating.

I think it was the scene where Phoenix's character stabs someone in a house. But it's been a while since I've seen the movie.

Yeah, I haven’t seen the Village since it premiered. I probably would have left if it added bone crushing sounds since it was at a drive-in away
Maybe would've drove over to one of the other screens, since you could do that then. Can't now.

Anyway, it's funny because medical shows are my favorite genre. I'm a ride or die Greys fan.

Don't make me call your bluff. I don't necessarily mind being watched.
