Beauty Child pageant

You know I just don't understand them, I mean why in the world would a parent in their right mind put their child in something just to be judge by another adult who has no type of authority over them, it beats the hell out if me. I just think it's morally wrong period. A four yr old child should not be worrying about if her make up matchers her dress, or if her hair looks as she's being judge. I don't care what anybody says, putting your child into a pageant doesn't teaching them self confidence, it just teaches them how to be superficial. The only thing it would teach them confidence on, is how they look physically then forget how they look on the inside. Children don't look at the world as Adults do, I can't stand those parents who say "Well she wants to do this" The child probably wants to do it, just because they are afraid of disappointing the parent. Sometimes people we just got stop and think about what we say and do to children, cuz they observe everything going on around them and it will effect them one way or another.
I mean I could never ever ever put my child in a pageant, I don't care how beautiful she is. I would much rather put my child in something constructive such as music or even a after school program where she can learn more stuff and become a better student. I know parenting is not easy job, but sometimes I wonder about these parents these dayz, they really do scare me... What do you guys all think about these beauty child pageants, is it morally wrong, yay or nay

I totally disagree with them especially when the children are so young and the parents say "Oh but she wants to do them" like they are old enough to make choices! They are going to do what puts a smile on Mommy's face not because they wanna do it! I totally disagree with the whole make-up part of it. What is this teaching the child? That in order to be beautiful they need to be caked with make-up. Ridiculous!! I think it also teaches the "I am better than you" rather than we are all beautiful and created equal. I can ramble about this forever! I have 3 little girls that are beautiful but NEVER would I enter them into anything like this!
He calls me "Holi" cuz he says everyday w/ me is like a Holiday...
