Halloween Season: Your ghost story

ghosts.0.0.jpg

So what is your ghost story. I think I have about 5 encounters, one I was with someone who never believed in ghost up until then. My most notable was just driving to work and seeing a shadow perosn darting across the freeway.

I lived in a haunted apartment. TOld this story here several times. In 1994, my borhter my mother and I all had seperate encounters. My brother got so scared to the point he requested to live at my fathers house for a whole month. He said people were whispering in the closet.

My encounter was not only a man walking in the kitchen with heavy boots on in the middle of the night, also I went tot eh bathroom once and the shower curtains suddenly raised themselves up to the ceiling with no one in the bathtub.

I still love a good horror flick and all but I dont mess with negative energy, or human energy that is lost on this plane. We eventaully got the apartment 'blessed'.

They do, sorry but they do and I'm a Christian too. Souls do get lost. However I don't believe all encounters are ghost. I believe in different dimensions and I think when conditions are right we can see images from the past (never the future since it hasn't happen yet) You hear stories of people who visit Gettysburgh and the next thing they are seeing battles taking place. I honestly think they are just seeing an event that happened in the past and all the "ghosts" seem to ignore you and they are just doing their own thing.

That's shortsighted for a Christian. We believe in the Holy Ghost/Spirit, why not other ghosts or spirits? The Bible doesn't say that those things don't exist. In fact, it says to specifically not engage with it; the assumption being that they do exist. Divination is mentioned multiple times in OT and NT.

Act 16:16 talked about a demon possessed girl.

Jesus referenced ghosts or spirits in Luke 24. "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have."

New Living Translation (a more modern English text) reads, "Look at my hands. Look at my feet. You can see that it’s really me. Touch me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don’t have bodies, as you see that I do.”

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

My aunt has a story that I'll try to keep short here. (She has two, but this is the shorter one.)

My aunt had a friend who was going through a divorce. The friend, Carmela, wanted her ex's things out of the house. He used to spend a lot of time in a spare room, looking at porn and other things. Carmela said the room was always really cold and she felt weird in it. My aunt came over to help her load a bunch of stuff into garbage bags and put it out for the garbage the next day.

By then, it was around 11pm. My aunt went home. During that time, Carmela's neighbor across the street had looked outside and saw something. She called Carmela, "There's someone or something out in your driveway. Be sure your door is locked, not sure what's going on." Carmela was upstairs in her bedroom and looked down to the driveway. She was freaked out and called my aunt, "There's something in my driveway!"

She explained to my aunt that it was some black figure, no face or shape per se, and hovered around the bags of garbage they'd set out. My aunt started praying with Carmela on the phone. Carmela said the figure thing started moving faster, jetting back and forth around the garbage, then went (super fast) across the street to another house, then another, then another, unable to (presumably) get inside. The more they prayed, the more the thing just kept running away and going door to door until it was out of sight.

Carmela never saw it again. The room was normal temperature after that and she was fine when she went in there.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Did you see the man or did you just hear the sounds? And ....how did you get your apartment blessed? Was there a priest who performed an exorcism on the house?

It was in the middle of the night and I kept hearing someone walking around in the kitchen and sitting down at times...then walking around again. My mother and brother were sleeping...so I just got up and went to the kitchen and turned the light on....NOTHING. I thought it was my moms boyfriend walking around aimlessly but he wasnt even there that day. I went back to the bedroom and the walking started up again...I just fell asleep but did tell my mom the next day.

Mom told us that our neighbor downstaris had someone in her kitchen as well, a old man in a coat and hat....so she called a priest. By this time my brother had already went to live with dad so I stayed with him a week and she told us a priest came by. I should ask her what he exactly did. I will say it didnt happen again.

Yes kp. My granny was in her kitchen in the 60s and suddenly smelled blood and saw soldiers fighting as did the person with her and it happened on myltiple occssions like a film playing back. It was by it turned out some fighting fields

It'a been called a "residual haunting". Also it's not just famous events such as a battle at Gettysburgh (though that does get our attention") but just ordinary things like some one just walking down the street. There been times when I went up to people and asked them "what time do you have" and they ignore me and keep walking down the street. Well the first thing that comes to mind is "what a jerk" but what if that turned out to be a residual haunting? It might happen more often than we think. You could be outside and the people way off in the distance could be a residual haunting from 2007. I remember a co-worker who called out for work only to get phone calls from co-workers saying they saw him walking to work. A residual haunting doesn't mean that they are only people who have died. How many times we hear that we must have a twin out there because some one said they saw some one who looks just like you hmmm

Good stuff. This best describes how i feel about it all.

As far as ghost stories, I've posted a few on here. Also, a while back i discovered a pretty cool podcast/website. It's called Weird Darkness, and it's on Amazon Music, Spotify etc. The guy who does it is a christian, but it's not at all a christian podcast. It straight deals with the paranormal etc.

I'll bite.

Not a ghost story but once when I was around 19 or so, I had a dream that my face was next to a wasp nest and one of them tried to sting me so I reached out with my hand and somehow squeezed it to death with my bare hand without it stinging me.

My hand to god, the next morning I found a dead wasp in my bed right near my pillow.

...

Also, not a "ghost story" but sometime maybe around, I dunno, 1993 maybe, I had a different dream where I was in a large, empty field (like a soccer field only bigger) and I could see the New York City skyline from where I was standing. In this dream, a small prop plane was having engine trouble near the buildings. I could hear it and see it. Smoke was coming out of it and I knew it was going to crash. The plane smashed into the Empire State Building which then caught on fire and quickly collapsed. The "shockwaves" or whatever it was then reverberated and ONE of the WTC buildings collapsed too.

I ran inside some house where a bunch of my friends were doing cocaine for some reason. Tracy Lords was there too, also for some reason. Nobody believed my story when I told them the ESB and one WTC building just collapsed. All they cared about was doing more coke.

I'd largely forgotten about this dream until...well...you know. But I wrote about it and told a few people so it's not some retroactive selective memory thing

I don't believe in ghosts nor premonitions and, sorry, I don't have any actual "ghost stories" but both of those dreams still creep me out. Maybe it was a Ghost Wasp!

You're the second person I've heard of who had a dream about this incident in the early to mid 90s, when you saw it happen did it bring the dream back to uou ?

Oh yes. Not immediately because I had memory holed it but when it jogged in my memory all I could think about was that no one would ever believe me.

Assuming you're talking about my WTC/Empire State Building/Sep11 dream and not the wasp
