Easter egg hunt: Prince titles in a scientific article

Some background: I work in a lab for cancer research. I sometimes try and add some hidden things whenever I get the chance to write a scientific paper. When Prince passed away, I thought it would be a nice tribute to use Prince song/album titles in the next article.

Well that took a while, but eventually got it published, together with a lot of collaborators. cool

It's about circular RNA in breast cancer, with the html here and the pdf here. It's free by now, so no copyright issues.

So, how about you guys trying to find the titles I've hidden?

At my last count it should be 25 26 (thanks iveivan !). I had to smuggle here and there, e.g. needed a comma between words of a title, or it was not a completely seperate word. But most of them should be straightforward.
Of note: due to word-count limit we had to put some text/figures in the supplemental materials, to be found here.
Finally, I also included, ah whatshallicallit without spoilers, a bonus item innocent . See if you can spot that too!

Must have been fun to get those in there even though it's a very serious subject area you work in. Did any of the reviewers notice?

Not been able to read much of it as yet but the obvious ones on the first page are It, Sign Of The Times and Parade in the text. Purple and Gold, and Peach colours in the figures as well as the formation of figure 1 being reminiscent of the symbol.

Given the topic, I suspected Positivity would be in there and found it on page 5 after doing a search and Free is in there several times. Head is on the last page. Ladder is also there but not The Ladder. The Crossing but not The Cross. Out-come but not Come itself. Spaced but not Space.

Now I'm thinking about it, I can't believe Prince never did a song called Breast (or if he did it passed me by).

Prince wrote so many songs, there could be more many references in there than you intended.

Well, you're off to a good start bow

Indeed the subject is quite serious, and it was my intention to not go out of my way too much when trying to fit in the words I wanted.

And you're right, there probably wil be a lot of unintended ones also to be found. But you got a couple of the ones I purposely put in!

I got a lot of comments from my senior co-author on that first sentence of the intro innocent. And none of the reviewers noticed :secretgiggle:

also headbang found the bonus !

I also see Data Bank, High, Here, Time and Home is in a URL. I think I saw a couple more but Prince.org lost the reply I was composing.

I never thought about this but now that you mentioned this, though I can't say I read a lot of science papers I do follow various scientists for fun and I have notice a few are Prince fans via things they may be wearing or something they say that they threw into a sentence. I find it amusing that there will be a few out here putting a bit of Prince in their papers. Imma havta look a little closer.

Okay, Data Bank was the only one of these that I deliberately put in. giggle

Ooohhh, very nice finds! bow

I see that you also dived in the supplementary data! I truly wanted the 'classic' Prince albums in there, but most of them are not easily suited for a paper. so I was quite happy to find a spot for Controversy, Purple Rain, Parade and Sign 'o the times.

For purple rain I struggled to find a way though, until I remembered a type of graphic called a "rainfall plot" that is used in my field of work. Choosing purple as the color for the group I wanted attention for, I ended up with the grammatically wrong:

In purple, rainfall-plot shows the location...
