Rate last TV series seen - Late Summer edition
I am so glad I followed a recommendation to watch this series which is now streaming on Hulu. It is so entertaining. First, many of the actors ended up being breakout stars later, such as Seth Rogen, James Franco, and Jason Segal. Second, This was produced by pre-celebrity Judd Apatow who brings a drop of sweetness to the characters despite all their flaws and adolescent self-centeredness. Third, it is relatable especially if you went to high school within a decade of the early 1980s setting. Fourth, it is funny. And finally, it has some great classic rock in each episode.

100 Foot Wave. Just starting it and it's more of a docuseries so it's difficult to rate. I've always loved watching surfing. Can't surf myself. Too cowardly of being the only "one", nowadays that's not true anymore, yay. But to me these are some of the most beautiful images in the world, a solitary person barreling thru a crashing giant wave. So I'm loving it and learning a lot I've never heard before. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Very disturbing, but i somehow can't stop watching. This is the train wreck i never saw coming. Into season two, it's still 4/5. "Whatever skin we're in

^ I found this is a series I can't get in to despite the hype. It feels like tragedy porn to me. I'm glad Liz is succeeding though. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Grace & Frankie (Netflix) 4.5/5. I've been watching it for a while now. I always stop mid season because I think it'll be the last one and I don't want it over. But now it's at it's 7th and final season. It'll probably be a year before I make it to the final episode. *sigh* But I have thoroughly loved and enjoyed the heck out of these ladies. A wonderful throwback to the Odd Couple and I Love Lucy, all wapped up in one, for modern times. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Planning on watching this. I know this dropped this week, so is your rating based on the whole series or the first few episodes?

Season 1: of 4.
Entertaining Netflix series that explores being an Indian (Asian)American teenaged girl in a Freaks and Geeks context. While this is not as good as Freak and Geeks, it does have the unique cultural aspect as well as one aspect that went against expectations: She is smitten with the hottest guy at school but also has more in common with a fellow brainiac who likes her. At first, I thought it was obvious at some point that she would see through the shallowness of being obsessed with the hottie but things have taken an unexpected path and I don't know where things will end up in Season 2.

I'm not sure how I feel about this show yet. That poop scene took it out of bonds for me. I hope that doesn't become the new norm, like having to watch people vomit in movies nowadays, you have to watch it in explicit detail every single time, almost. I don't do that in reallife. Anyway, the show definitely raises deep feelings. I liked Tanya, up to a point I liked Armond. I get Shane wasn't supposed to be likeable but I couldn't dislike him. Quinn was kind of standard coming of age. Everyone else plays on the border of liking and disliking, except Paula who fell all the way into dislike land. Time keeps on slipping into the future...
