I dont recall every listening 2 a critic.

Usually it works the other way for me. The critics just looooooove a movie - and I think it's absolute crap. Most recently, it was The Favourite and Phantom Thread - the latter of which I had to wait forever to see, was totally prepared to love, and was so bitterly disappointed I wanted to feed toadstools to everyone involved with it.

Smokey And The Bandit 1 & 3 (not 2 as much. There's a rumor that Part 3 was originally a movie called Smokey Is The Bandit with Jackie Gleason playing all the parts. But the studio later insisted on putting Jerry Reed & the Burt Reynolds cameo in it. Supposedly the original version either still exists or the footage was thrown out.)

----> and now, for the really embarrassing one --->Staying Alive <---the panned sequel to Saturday Night Fever. All I can say is Travolta was steaming hot in it and it made an impression to my 14 year old self when it came out. I just caught it on PlutoTV recently and still was entertained by it. My husband though for sure I was as a kite when I was watching it...but sadly no...just still drooling over Travolta's hot bod!

Criticss didn't like Help! by the Beatles? Never seen it, need to check it out. I saw A Hard Days Night and liked it. Saw Yellow Submarine, didn't care for it, think you need to be high to watch that movie.

whew, I own Lord of the Rings on blu-ray and even watched it on it's 1978 theatrical release... but I can't say it functions as a movie, especially the last fourth where it seems like they gave up and just put in the rotoscope reference footage in the print instead of animating to it.
