whew, I own Lord of the Rings on blu-ray and even watched it on it's 1978 theatrical release... but I can't say it functions as a movie, especially the last fourth where it seems like they gave up and just put in the rotoscope reference footage in the print instead of animating to it.

Yes it's highly flawed and the second half is rushed, but it's a fascinating failure to me, I find the rotoscoping a charming incompetence.

Conan the Barbarian (1982, the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger....absolutely LOVE that movie!)

Bitter Moon....(I´ve watched this one countless times and still love it).

Wizards (by Ralph Bakshi....critics hated it but I really enjoy watching this every now and then).

Whenever this question gets asked, Speed Racer is always the first movie that comes to mind. The Wachowskis did an amazing job with this tribute to the TV series. The critics got it wrong.
