Yeah, the Carlisle thing was very unexpected. Changes all the coaching searches, too, because he just moved to the top of everyone's list. Somebody is going to deliver a truck full of money to get him.

Incredible win...the "others" stepped up big time....Terrence Mann, Reggie Jackson, Nicholas Batum, Pat Bev. When Pat Bev's hitting 3s, you're in trouble.

It's over for Brooklyn. Durant gave everything he had, but injuries killed the Nets season. The dude who should wear goat horns is Joe Harris. He was a waste of space for seven games.

I'd personally love a 76ers vs Phoenix final.

I want the Clippers to fail again, but they look stronger than they were in 2020.

Clippers have a chance....CP3 is out for Game 1, and there's no timetable for his return.

Bucks won that series once Kyrie went down.

If I'm Doc Rivers, I sit Ben Simmons ass down and tell him, "young man, either you get in the gym and work on your mid-range 'J' & free throws, or we'll have to trade you. Last night was ridiculous....dude has ZERO confidence on offense.

Starting around 2003, players starting getting paid based on hype instead of actual production. Ben is one of these players. He was never really that good, yet they decided 2 pay him a max contract. That is on mgmt, not Ben. If I'm Philly, I trade this guy ASAP.

90 percent of the fan base including me wants Ben gone. A grown man who refuse to shoot the ball

in the NBA. Not buying it. Part of me thinks Ben is playing possum to get traded. There are videos of Ben playing pickup basketball in the gym and shooting 3's coldblooded swish with defenders in his face and has good form. It's frustrating for the fans. They lost to a mediocre team at home 3 times in a 7 game series. I just refuse to believe this guy can't shoot jumpers in a game after seeing these videos. Take Doc Rivers with too. Didn't realize how bad he was especially with the Clippers until I saw his playoff record with them last week. eek

I would not give up on Ben Simmons....like Reggie Miller said, lock his ass in a gym and have him work on his game. He may also need a sports psychiatrist, because his confidence is shot.

Exactly and agreed. Also, it's not his fault he was drafted 1st or that he was offered a huge contract. He declared for the draft and Phillie took him first. They offered him a pile of money and no one in their right mind is going to turn that down. Sometimes we basketball fans need to just chill out and take a breath. He's only 24 and he'll only be 25 for all of next season. Most NBA players prime years are 28-32. Like, it's amazing how often that holds true. It's nowhere near time to give up on Ben Simmons. It is time to give the guy a chance to catch his own breath, grow up, work hard and get better. It's not like he isn't GOOD. He is good. Better than good. Now let him try to become great without treating him like some kind of failed savior.

*cough* That's my two cents, anyway. Regardless, he's going to be hard to trade right now and will likely play better wherever he gets sent without the intense pressure being put on him in Phillie. Then what, Sixers fans?

Nobody in the second round of the NBA playoffs is mediocre. And it doesn't matter who you're playing, beating a team 4 out of 7 games in the playoffs is hard. A lot of really good teams have already lost this year.

Hawks aren't that good dude. Trae Young is a stud but who else on that team scares you.

Just watch the Bucks dismantle them the way the Sixers should have easily but bad coaching (another choke job by Doc Rivers) and Simmons mental offensive issues has kept the Hawks alive. The Sixers blew 2 games consecutively leading by 18 and 26 points. That won't happen against the Bucks.

Crushing loss for the Clippers...they had a chance to make a statement if Paul George wasn't 'pandemic' from the free throw line. With CP3 coming back, I think Phoenix can get a game in LA. Suns are my favorite to win the championship. It's Paul's best chance to get a ring....no Big 3 on the Nets to deal with, and IMO, Phoenix is a better team than Milwaukee or Atlanta.

I saw this quote from Kendrick Perkins regarding Cameron Payne, who's playing lights out basketball. I didn't see that coming from him;

"Cameron Payne is the perfect example on why it’s a must for young players to be with the RIGHT Organizations because CULTURE and GUIDANCE means everything!"

Perk's quote made me think of Ben Simmons. Did he get the right guidance early on.

It's a team sport and one team beat the other team 4 times. I've never been about that this player or that player thing. Bench players across the playoffs have been stepping up. It's a team sport. I stand by there being no mediocre teams in the second round. You make it to the second round you deserve to be there. And honestly I could make some pretty easy arguments for the Bucks playing worse in the playoffs than the Hawks. I'll be watching like everyone else. Definitely going to be interesting to see what the Hawks can do, or if the Bucks can actually be the team they're supposed to be.

I give Giannis credit though. Even down 2-1 he rose to the challenge and one a tough

game 7 in Brooklyn. The odds were still against them. Even after dropping game 1 to Atlanta

I still have them winning in 6. Trae Young is scary good. I believe Giannis want it this year.

I don't know what to think about Philly's mess with Simmons. Suns and Clippers may just be

the most enjoyable matchup of these whole playoffs.

Last night was the best defense I've seen Pat Bev play in years. I think the Clippers have an excellent chance of tying this series.

As for Ben Simmons, no matter where he plays, I think he needs a sports doctor like I posted earlier. His confidence has to be restored.

THAT was the Milwaukee Bucks team that needs to show up every night and NOT look surprised that they can play that well if they have any intention of winning the big shiny trophy.

Ben Simmons needs a sports psychologist or three, some meditation, a legal distraction and about 7 very specific coaches. But honestly, the dude is still young and before his prime. I think he'll figure it out. And really, just fix the damn free throws. If all he ever does otherwise is make dunks, layups and like, four foot gimme jumpers he could still average 20-25 ppg and that would be fine along with his defense and solid team play. But he's got to be able to be in at the end of games AND make his free throws at like, idk, at least 70%. 75% would be better.

Suns in 5. I hate the Clippers so much.

1. They're the Clippers

2. They're not the Warriors/Lakers
3. Some of my earliest basketball memories are of my grandfather loving/watching the Lakers (they lived in Anaheim, so did we eventually) and hating the Celtics. I remember the babysitter coming to our house in Portland (I was born there my sister and nephew still live there) the year the Trailblazers won the title so my parents could go to playoff and finals games. Michael Jordan was drafted the same year I got really into basketball (started playing and actually understanding the game) on my own. I moved to the Bay Area in 1987 and have followed/been a passionate fan of the Warriors pretty much ever since. So I'm like Warriors > Lakers > Trailblazers > Bulls if they're playing each other and I'll go for any of them if they're playing another team (and it doesn't effect the Warriors playoff standing).

4. They're the Clippers

5. The Pacific Division. The Warriors and the Lakers are also in the Pacific Division. Without hesitation I root for the Warriors. I have watched or attended nearly every game since sometime around 1990. I schedule my social time around Warriors games. There are the friends I watch basketball with and my other friends. lol I had season tickets for a few years in the 90s when they were ass and tickets were affordable. For many, many years (until they built the new place in SF) I lived minutes from their arena (arena was in Oakland, I live in Alameda). If the Warriors are playing the Lakers there is no confusion, I'm going for the Warriors. If Lakers games at the end of the season may efffect the Warriors in the standings I am going against the Lakers, always. When the Warriors finally got good (man there were some rough years) and some people tried to come at me with that bandwagon or fairweather fan bullshit, they got an earful. The Warriors are my team for the last 30 plus years, wether or not they were ever any good. But the Lakers come second, and the Clippers are in the same division as both of them. So no Clipper win is ever a good Clipper win.

6. They're the Clippers

7. They sucked. For decades. They were the laughing stock of the league. Even as bad as the Warriors were some years, the Clippers were worse. People went to Clippers games because tickets were cheaper than the Lakers and you couldn't get good Lakers tickets anyway.

8. They're the Clippers

9. A long procession of players I really, REALLY didn't/don't like. I'll spare you the full list but Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, Pat Beverly and really even Kahwai Leonard. There's a fuckton more though. They just always seemed to end up with players I REALLY didn't/don't like. The only thing they ever had going for them for me was Doc Rivers being their coach and then he went and hired his own damn overrated son and that pissed me off too.

10. They're the Clippers

11. Generaly principle

12. A lifetime of hating the Clippers
