I posted a little years ago under JPMcGee (JP = my first 2 initials + surname from Prince song; my actual surname is Irish, so it fit). When I tried to reregister, I saw that the email address I had given to the org was from an old job. Duh. |

300. Yep, they (Dave Sim, the guy who created it, conceived the 300 issue arch, wrote it and drew all the characters - and Gerhard, the guy he hired along the way to draw the backgrounds) reached issue 300 in Mar, 2004. Cerebus died "alone, unmourned and unloved" just like he (and the readers) were told he would. Then Sim bought out Gerhard's rights to his work on the series, said he would leave the book and it's characters to public domain upon his death and became even more of a grumpy hermit guy. He did some other comic book things. They were very good but only marginally successful. He suffered a wrist injury in 2015 and was no longer able to draw (although I believe he can now to some degree). He's more recently been releasing single issue Cerebus comics (all No. 1s lol) with cut-outs of Cerebus from the original 300 issues pasted over Gustave Dore's (public domain) art. He has a YouTube channel (Cerebus Online) where he's uploaded 333 videos so far to a whopping 1.34 THOUSAND subscribers. lmao | |
