someone had a seizure at IHOP

I haven't been to IHOP in weeks. The first time we go there in a while the guy in the booth across from us had a diabetic seizure. Poor guy. All you can do is let them go through with it also they dont hurt themselves or you. We and another called 911 and ours got a busy signal, no lie. I thought that was always just a joke. He was dining alone and folks called up his family ( he was a regular and they took his celh phone etc-they were at church). They came from church and his son came after the ambulance etc was already there and rushed through etc "he's my father!". The man was alright after a while and they took him out on the stretcher after he was stabalized etc, sugar checked etc. The weird thing is we just found out two weeks ago that my cat was diabetic. He has to have daily insulin shots etc too ..lawd. Well some folks came in after the commotion and sat down and were oblivious to what had happened. Life went on, the tables were cleared. Be glad for good health..all the money in the world dont mean a thing if it 'aint got that swing.

I've had bad experiences with wack ass 911 too. Fortunately it didn't end up life threatening.

Geez. I've been around when people fainted, but never for a full-blown seizure. I absolutely hate seeing people in distress. I'm sure I'd have been really upset by that, thinking to myself the whole time, "Please don't die. Please don't die."

Hats off to you for helping, rdhull.

About two years ago me and some friends went camping. A freinds brother in laws' brother came. The next morning after our first night he had a seizure. Just out of the blue, no health problems before etc. I called for my friend ( his bro-in law) choking on my words all flustered and shit, "R..come ..your! R! he! R!" all the while flailing my arms etc. He came and another guy who was like a hospital Tech put him on his side etc and just protected his head etc. He later told us thats what you do, just let the seizure ride through because you can hurt them or yourself etc if you move them etc. So this time I was prepared so to speak but I really didnt have to do anything except asst the mgr and waitress in letting the guy ride it through and call 911 like someone else did. I think anyone with trianing etc would have done the same.
