I am surprised Batman would make such a sinister topic!

You know the term for a person that can use both hands is ambidextrous.

the latin root of dexter means from or on the right...

so "ambidextrous" means having two right hands!

Sinister (and I knew this before the Simpsons was a thing) means from or of the left...

My brother who is left handed aways thought that "ambidextrous" was bigoted and that is should be
ambisinisterous...

Also: I have never looked into it but one of the better shows on tv was Dexter (at least the first few seasons).... Dexter meaning on the Right may well be interned to mean that he was (based on his code) doing the RIGHT thing...

My grandma was left handed, she said that the teachers would force her to use her right hand. None of her children or grandchildren were left handed.

She taught me how to crochet, but in order to do so, she had to stand in front of me, face to face and I would mirror her movement. Man I miss her so much.

Ok get ready.. I am left handed, I can use either hand almost equally. My father was born left handed and forced to change. So he too could use either hand.My mother is left handed. They had 6 children and four of us are left handed. My right handed little sis had 3 boys. 2 are left handed, and one is ambidextrous.. I have 2 children and I believe my younger child when he was younger showed a tendency to use his left hand. But he is now right handed 🤔

My Grandma said that they would use a ruler to crack over the knuckles of her left hand if they caught a pencil in it. She was born in 1919.

I remember a teacher in grade school that would crack us on the hands, left or right, pencil or no pencil. lol And, no, I wasn't born in 1919... lol

Me neither. My teacher would jokingly say "you write with the wrong hand" but my grandma told me back in her day, teachers would seriously force students to write with their right hand. I really don't understand what's the big deal tho.

UPDATE: I Just Googled the reason and it's actually pretty dumb. Don't know if it is the same in the US, but apparently, people thought people who write with left are possessed by the devil biggrin

That can't be true. I mean, I'm right handed...

wave I am left-handed, as is my wife, my two daughters, and the majority of my friends. Which is sort of odd. Or perhaps more appropriately, sinister. I haven't ever actively sought out left-handed people, I just seem to gravitate towards them, and vice versa.

My cat (now deceased, and very much missed) was also left-pawed, but that's not so unusual, most male cats are left-pawed.
