Me neither. My teacher would jokingly say "you write with the wrong hand" but my grandma told me back in her day, teachers would seriously force students to write with their right hand. I really don't understand what's the big deal tho. UPDATE: I Just Googled the reason and it's actually pretty dumb. Don't know if it is the same in the US, but apparently, people thought people who write with left are possessed by the devil biggrin [Edited 7/8/20 3:56am]

That can't be true. I mean, I'm right handed...

Not you, your one of the good guys

Yeah but I've been told by multiple people, including a priest, that I was possessed by the devil...

The right hemisphere of a person's brain controls the left side of a person's body, and the left controls the right. I know many teachers who write with their left hands.

Most people who are left handed tend to be skilled in the arts/music.

Interesting! I wrote backwards too, a little differently. When we started learning cursive (as opposed to printing) in the 2nd grade, I couldn't do it unless I had the paper upside down. So it looked like I was writing backwards and upside-down. I had very nice penmanship so kids would get me to write their names etc, a little parlor trick. It also took care of the hand smudge factor lefties deal with.

When I got to 3rd grade, the new teacher insisted I write with my paper straight, she taped it to my desk every day. After that I could only print in class by twisting my body, turning the paper had been my work-around. She literally stopped me from writing cursive. I was mad about that too.

My sister is left handed. She went to Catholic school in the 60's. When she was in grade school the nun teachers would hit her hand to make her stop writing with her left hand.

My mother was left handed she had beautiful handwriting. I don't know the things she suffered being so, I'm sure she suffered some since she grew up in an era when being left handed was considered wrong.
