Kids on leashes

I don't know why this happens, but everytime I'm at the store or the mall, and some parents are walking by with their hyperactive kids, the little fucknut always seems to take off running mindlessly and ALWAYS manages to slam right into my legs or my shopping cart. I swear next time some little brat does that I'm going to punt them full force across the mall. Parents watch your kids and keep them under control!

This happened to me last night, and the parents had the nerve to look at me like I hit THEIR kid intentionally with the cart, when in reality the little shit ran right into my cart.

Its not my fault their kid is an idiot and they dont pay attention to it.

grrr.

LOL

That is the sorriest sight in the entire world...
Leashing your kids, like you would a pet, is a major
violation of human rights.
I would never consider doing that to my kids.

However, back to your side of the point, it's not
the kids fault, but their lousy parents.

DISCIPLINE your children please!!

There are ways other than slapping them around.nod
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

some kids are truly unaware and kind of. . toddling around in the world. these kind bump into everything and it's sorta cute/funny. you have to watch out for them and even grab them if they start to topple over.

then there are the older, more rebellious ones who act out in public. the ones whose parents raised 'em without limits and they think the world is that way too. they'll bust through your space with no regard and laugh too. you still gotta watch out for them, though, they're only kids. but you gotta watch out for you too wink

I'd agree with Tom. Parents should have control over their kids in public.

My 2-yr-old is really inquisitive and likes to run around and explore, but I don't think other people should have to endure her running into them, etc. I have one of those wrist leashes for times a stroller is inconvenient, and I see nothing wrong with it -- it's not like I have it tied around her neck or something.

I actually think the leash thing is not a bad idea now a days with all the crazies kidnapping kids. There are times when your kids can get away from you in a split second no matter how good of a parent you are and no matter how closely you are watching them!! I personally dont own any kid leashes but for some kids and some trips they are good; ie: Disneyland, etc. Just my two cents!

lollollollollol

I have actually seen children with leashes on. Just like those kind used on dogs where you manage the length on the cord. The end is attatched to the wrist. Some even had them harnessed. Funny sight. But, probably more needed than we expect.

A child leash is ok when used to keep your little one close by at a crowded event. I used one on my daughter when she was 2 and I took her to the Taste of Chicago. 500,000 people in a small park. But if you have to use a leash in a mall, you and your bad ass kids need to stay home.

Some people think kids flipping out is cute. Well, let me tell you, that shit ain't cute and it ain't funny. Control your damn kids when out in public! They could hurt themselves or worse hurt someone else.

I thought you were going to say why you thought kids on leashes were bad, and I was going to post and explain why it's a great idea! lol

Why don't they have obedience school for children like they do for puppies? After all, puppies just grow up to chew things and pee in rude places. Children grow up to own guns and law firms.

I don't like the use of leashes on kids. Easy for me to say since I don't have any kids, lol, but I just don't. But I do get irritated when kids are just running wild & the parents don't seem to care.

I think parents have to do a certain amount of tuning their kids out so they don't go crazy themselves. Like, when you talk on the telephone w/ someone who has kids (I'm not saying every parent is like this, but SOME) and the kid is screaming & running wild, the parent yells something out every now & again & pops back into the conversation w/ you. You're a little disrupted by it but they can just roll w/ it, they're so used to the chaos...

It's like they're stealing time away for themselves. The kid's gotta be a kid, they have to let a certain amount of the childs activity go. When that's carried over in a public setting, those moments of not paying attention & being unbothered by chaos can really affect others. I don't think parents realize how disruptive it can be @ times b/c they're SO used to it themselves.

I'm totally rambling now, making a bad case for folks w/o kids, LOL, but this is just how I see it... smile

The leash is the bomb. Especially for the 2-5 year-old group. Those little ones are so busy being facinated by the world that they lose their minds and bump into everything or end up wandering/dashing away.

I think it's digusting for people to put their children on leashes. They want to make their lives easier. Being a parent isn't supposed to be easy. Shit, be a fucking parent and control your child. They didn't ahve leashes when I was liitle and my mother SOMEHOW managed to keep me where I belonged. Do your job

At the age of 2 a child should be learning the difference between right and wrong. Before 2 it's useless. No child should be on a leash after age 2. They are able to speak, and they are able to listen and understand. If they don't then the parents have not taken the time to show them. In today's world, with children basically calling the shouts, the states taking away our parenting rights, and so forth an so on, it's to our and their advantage to teach them EARLY, before they get totally out of control. It ain't easily, let me tell you, especially at that age. It takes constant monitoring and a very keen eye. Matter of fact, it takes eyes on both sides of your head!
