California boat fire: 8 dead, at least 26 missing as officials prepare for the worst


I debated even posting this. I know there's nothing that can be done for the victims of this tragedy. In the coming days there will be more info as to the cause of the fire and if there was anything that the crew could have done differently.... Anyways, it's just so sad that the only people who survived were the crew. rose

"Coast Guard officials said eight people are dead and at least 26 are missing after a 75-foot commercial diving boat erupted in flames near the shoreline of Santa Cruz Island, Calif., early Monday.


Many aboard the vessel Conception were thought to be sleeping below deck when the fire broke out in the pre-dawn hours. Authorities continued their search Monday for possible survivors, as the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s coroner office prepared for a mass casualty incident."
