That's my bad -- he's 6-2 as a starter in SF. It'll be a while till I work myself into regular season shape. Still, Jimmy G to me is the player to watch.

Drake was known as one of the best coaches on any staff in the league and he helped make a lot of guys a lot of money. But more importantly, he was trusted and of high character. His loss is a blow in so many ways.

Bengals improved. Andy Dalton may have to be replaced. I do know Batman is fearful of my boys.

Anyway, the biggest news of this preseason is, of course, the Houston Texans signing former Ole Miss quarterback Jordan Ta'amu to replace injured third-stringer A. J. McCarron. Jordan got in the game Saturday night, threw one pass, and completed it! He's already better than Brock Osweiler!

I doubt Jordan makes the team but he could make the practice squad, and maybe get on somewhere else. And speaking of guys who went from practice squad to team to starter and then blew everything - how's Chad Kelly doing?

Pretty well! Swag Kelly played a good game this weekend, leading the Colts to a score and putting up a 96.5 QB rating for the first two games. He's still third-string but given that Andrew Luck has been cursed by a voodoo doll, and Jacoby Brissett is the #2 guy, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelly in a game. That is, after his 2-game suspension expires mid-September.

Yes and no. Yes, the records don't mean anything. It does matter when it comes to evaluating players especially rookies. Most of all you don't want to see any of your players getting hurt. Plus you can try out plays to see what works and what doesn't. You'll see more attempts on 4th and 1 or more tries on 2 point conversions.

Bell hasn't played in almost 2 years,he will be rusty. Jets offense is not as talent as when Bell was with the Steelers. I don't think he will have the same success he had in Pittsburgh with the Jets

Seems to me that RBs can adjust more easily to a new offense than other skilled players can.

But you're right -- Bell won't have the luxury of stutter-stepping behind the Jets line. He'll be less productive but I'd still be surprised if he isn't in Pro Bowl form by midseason.

Not doubting that he looks good in practice. A lot of players do.

And yes, he's proven himself time and time again that he can excel after missing time. But he hasn't taken a snap in 2 years.

And he'll be behind a worse offensive a less experienced QB, and surrounded by fewer perimeter weapons to keep defenses honest.

Like I said, I think he will be in Pro Bowl form this year, but maybe not at the outset. He could of course be All-Pro, but that would depend on whether Darnold has a good season to keep defenses from stacking the box to stop LBell.

I think the 2-year rust will show early, but the 2-year rest will help him get to Hawai'i again.

The only player that can stop Antonio Brown is Antonio Brown. He has the best feet of any

WR I've ever seen in football. He generally has DB's beaten at the line of scrimmage. He could

easily be in Jerry Rice company if he wasn't such a head case.

I 100% agree with that. The constant threatening to quit is tiresome and I'm glad he's no longer with the Steelers and now he's Oakland's problem. He won't win a Superbowl there. By the way that whole thing about wanting to use his old helmet and not wanting to use the new helmet, was it because the old helmet fit his big head????
