NFL 2019 Training Camp & Pre-Season Thread Giants rookie QB played well last night against the Jets....but it's only pre-season.
Now WTF is up with Antonio Brown? Hey, can't feel sorry for the Raiders....they knew what they were getting into signing this flake.

Nah bro Jimmy G only played 4 games last season. The 49ers finished 4-12. There was a reason they took Nick Bosa with the 2nd overall pick.
In other football news Steelers WR coach Daryl Drake passed away at age 62 early Sunday. The team closed practice today in Latrobe, PA.

Damn right KPowers I disagree with you on Bell being so so with the Jets. I think the guy is going to be a beast. Sam Darnold looks like a capable starter. I'm rooting for Bell except for when they play the Steelers. I will be rooting for the Steelers to kick his ass. Bell however has my blessings to kick New England's ass. Don't laugh at my funk

Bell hasn't played in almost 2 years,he will be rusty. Jets offense is not as talent as when Bell was with the Steelers. I don't think he will have the same success he had in Pittsburgh with the Jets

Yes and no. Yes, the records don't mean anything. It does matter when it comes to evaluating players especially rookies. Most of all you don't want to see any of your players getting hurt. Plus you can try out plays to see what works and what doesn't. You'll see more attempts on 4th and 1 or more tries on 2 point conversions. [Edited 8/20/19 9:38am]

I've watched him in practice with the Jets. He has the same sick burst and acceleration. The Jets are so confident in him and their investment that he will not play in the preseason. You can't have total duds on your offensive line but if you have at least 2 to 3 capable starters on the oline a good rb will make them look better. I always point to the Steelers 2009 Super Bowl winning with the shittiest offensive line in the league. It did hurt them eventually until they rebuilt the line. Bell will be fine. This dude wasn't a top 5 player for no reason. Don't laugh at my funk

And he'll be behind a worse offensive a less experienced QB, and surrounded by fewer perimeter weapons to keep defenses honest. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

The only player that can stop Antonio Brown is Antonio Brown. He has the best feet of any WR I've ever seen in football. He generally has DB's beaten at the line of scrimmage. He could easily be in Jerry Rice company if he wasn't such a head case. Don't laugh at my funk

I 100% agree with that. The constant threatening to quit is tiresome and I'm glad he's no longer with the Steelers and now he's Oakland's problem. He won't win a Superbowl there. By the way that whole thing about wanting to use his old helmet and not wanting to use the new helmet, was it because the old helmet fit his big head???? [Edited 8/22/19 11:42am]

Colts QB Andrew Luck informs team he is retiring
Andrew Luck dropped a bombshell during the preseason. The Indianapolis Colts quarterback is stunningly retiring from the NFL, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported. Luck informed the team of his plans to walk away. ESPN first reported the news. Wild. Unreal. Crazy. Insane. Unbelievable. Nuts. Use whatever exclamatory word you want, it's a berserk story that dropped as the Colts were in the middle of their preseason game versus the Chicago Bears. As news leaked, TV broadcasts showed the QB on the sideline talking with backup-turned-starter Jacoby Brissett and other teammates.
The 29-year-old former franchise signal-caller has dealt with a plethora of injuries the past several seasons, including a shoulder issue that wiped out all of his 2017 season. Luck bounced back with a fantastic 2018 campaign, throwing for 4,593 passing yards, tossing 39 touchdowns and leading Indy to the playoffs. If not for Patrick Mahomes' ridiculous season, Luck could have been a candidate to win the MVP last year. Another offseason, however, was disrupted by injury. Luck began dealing with a calf injury back in April. The issue continued to nag the QB into training camp and was finally revealed to be an ankle injury. All the injuries wore on Luck, and he decided to take his ball and go home. The former No. 1 overall pick, entered the NFL as the epitome of a franchise quarterback owning the size, arm, intelligence, demeanor and grit. Luck immediately boosted the Colts from the cellar of the NFL to the playoffs. With a less-than-ideal offensive line in front of him, Luck helped drag Indy to the playoffs the first three seasons of his career. After seven seasons, the Colts finally seemed poised to have the ideal team surrounding Luck to make a Super Bowl push. The injuries, however, wiped away those plans. Luckily for Indy, Brissett is a starting-caliber quarterback and will take over full-time duties. But there is no way to slice it, Luck leaving the NFL before turning 30 years old in less than a month is the most stunning retirement in history.
