Punk

The first two episodes covering the genre's origins in New York and London were good, but the last two episodes about 80s hardcore and 90s grunge and pop-punk, while necessary, I found less appealing only because I was never into those scenes as much. 3.5/5

Too Old to Die Young E1-3 on Amazon Prime. Great acting so far. William Baldwin has a great cameo. This is weird moody series, but compelling thus far and the pacing may be slow for some, but I liking it so far. Interview with the director: https://m.youtube.com/wat..._EYSDFeXmA
E 4-6

This is one crazy ass show, but nevertheless intriguing. I love the diverse cast. The acting is top notch. Anyone watch it yet?

Thanks for this, I wasn't aware of it. We watched it after your post. I would have maybe liked a little more on the London scene, but nonetheless very interesting. Thanks 4/5

Lambs Of God (2019) is about about 3 nuns, each a generation apart, living in an isolated convent by the coast, who come across an unwelcome visitor, who threatens their home. The cast lead by Ann Dowd and Essie Davis were amazing worship and the cinematography was beautiful. It was like watching a modern tale fairytale. I give this a 4.5 out of 5 popcorn

Archer: Danger Island (2018)

I lost interest last year because I was getting the feeling the show was jumping the shark. So I finally got around to watching Season 8 on my DVR.

It was repetitive of other seasons but so much fun.

Big Little Lies - Season 2 - 4 of 5 stars.

I have really enjoyed both seasons, as it is rare to have so many good actresses in the same series. I think the series would have sagged without the addition of Meryl Streep. Another unique and fascinating characterization by Meryl. Nicole Kidman again offers more proof that she is under-rated.

I heard that they are contemplating a third season, but I think that this story has come to a natural conclusion as much as it would be fun to see these actresses together again.

Archer: 1999 (2019)

The writing is sharp and funny but this last season of Archer was more tedious than Dream Island. The dream sequences are wearing thin. It's good to see that Sterling is back in the real world. But the show may have jumped the shark, twice over.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Season 6

The convoluted way Coulson was brought back made it more apparent that season five should have been the final season. While I liked this season, it all felt a little extra, like an unnecessary epilogue. The final two episodes were a real rollercoaster though. 3/5

I thought some of the episodes were good, like the trippy one where Daisy and Gemma got high in that gambling den ... also liked the dynamic between Fitz and Enoch. The moody Coulson clone was good, as was Jaco.

All got a bit predictable towards the end though and the reveal of what/who the Coulson clone was really didn't live up to the hype.

The characters and dialogue are still generally great--Sarge's dig on gun culture was sadly timely.

What was disappointing for me was the overall premise this season including the secret of Coulson #2. The season finale cliffhanger (SPOILER) introducing Coulson #3 I found more appealing.

Californication. 2.5/5. Although, Duchoviny did a great job at being a self indulgent toxic man child that provided for most of the toxicity in his and family's life, I found some of the story lines a stretch. Even in the final few episodes Duchoviny character seems forced to be overtly reactionary (Just used as a device to dramatize the situation instead of keeping it real.) to the news the daughter gives.

Euphoria (3.5 out of 5 happy faces). This show has a paradoxical name give how bleak it is. While the acting and cinematography was very good, I docked it a point due to it needlessly creating constant melodrama due to ever one seeming to have a severe psychiatric disorder or addiction. That said, there were some outstanding scenes. And Zendaya, she stoled my heart.

GLOW season 3 - Terrific season that went by too fast. Netflix has been canceling many of their shows after three seasons and it would be devastating if they do it here. Unresolved, emotional cliffhanger would be well worth the wait for season 4. 9/10

I've been watching "Curb Your Enthusiasm". I'm on season 7, which is the "Seinfeld" reunion season.

falloff

It's PERFECT!

I give "Curb Your Enthusiasm" 15 out of 10.

9/10 After two episodes it's very strong and much better than I expected. Imagine season 1 of Desperate Housewives spread across the 60s, 80s, and 2019 with more infidelity, nudity and profanity.

Orange is the New Black - Final Season - 2.5 of 4 stars.

It is amazing how little buzz this show gets anymore. I didn't even know that they ahd the final season ready to screen till after the fact. The quality has slowly but surely declined in the last few years, and I would say this season is my least favorite. Part of the problem is that it is trying to cover too many things at once rather than focusing mostly on life in prison. For instance, they now are covering the lives of people released from prison as well as added a whole other story line of immigrants being incarcerated by ICE. This, added to try to given some closure to every character who had been on the show, resulted in a show that was too disjointed. There were still moments that were really poignant, which made it watchable. The whole immigrant story-line was a mixed bag: It was interesting to see how these incarcerations impacted people suddenly removed from their families without any means of communication as well as how they brought out a bit of humanity in a few of the long-term prisoners. On the other hand, it was just too much to take on in addition to all the other story-lines. This is one show that might have better ended a couple of years ago.
