You Are An Adult, Do You Love Amusement Parks and Carnivals?

Without children as the reason you are there?

I love them, especially at night when the lights are on.

Share you fav pictures of amusement parks/carnivals/rides

nostalgia? Adults who are forever young?

I'm a Childless Millennial, and I Love Going to Disney

The first time I went to Disney, I was 8 years old. I have vivid memories of eating way too much sugar, going on rides, and begging my parents - who'd carefully mapped out our day for maximum fun and minimum stress - to please let us stay longer. I remember meeting and being slightly terrified of Mickey and Goofy at the Disney hotel we were staying at. I remember stretching to my full height, praying I'd be tall enough to get on certain rides, and feeling like I'd just won the lottery when I was permitted on. It was a week of fun, delight, and indulging a lingering belief in magic. And those memories are enshrined in a golden glow of nostalgia that I still look back on fondly.

The most recent time I went to Disney, I was a full-grown adult, aged 22. I went with three of my college friends. After spending weeks planning our trip and reading up on every Disney highlight we couldn't miss, we were so excited to go. Because we were all still students at the time, we prepared some of our meals ahead of time and opted for a budget-friendly hotel. And when we first arrived, I'll admit I was a little nervous. Would it still be as amazing as it was when I was a kid? Especially since now I had to pay for my own ticket and prepare my own food. Would the enchantment still be there even though I was an adult now - old enough to know magic wasn't real? I was worried I'd built up my Disney experiences in my head, and that the only reason I had truly loved it so much was because I was a kid. I was worried I wouldn't feel that indescribable happiness as a grown-up.

I was so, so wrong.

My friends and I spent our days at Disney in a haze of complete joy, racing from ride to ride, indulging in too much sugar, and laughing with delight when we spotted famous characters from our childhood traveling around the park. The parade of floats at the end of the day still left me speechless; I stood spellbound as I watched the history of Disney play out in lights on the side of Cinderella's castle. And walking down Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom still gave me goosebumps. We left feeling enriched, satisfied, and, much like I did when I was a kid, hopeful that good and magical things are possible.

I have adult friends that like to go and i have grudgingly gone because that's what they wanted as a birthday gift. I have been gifted year passes to Disneyland so i wouldn't have an excuse not to go with them. But its the last place i wanna go.

I have a high sensitivity to the 'drop' feel. It took me a looooong time to learn how to handle it. But I love Amusement parks and Carnivals. Always have. I love my family and friends who still have that youthful zest were we call each other up on whim and meet up at a local carnival or A park for a few hours and cut loose, bumper cars, carousels, leasure trains that ride you around the park over crazy rides, some fried dough, a little cotton candy, park food, night time lights etc LOVE it

I have always loved roller coasters and the lights of amusement parks. Just got back from Six Flags over Georgia. At 61, I rode all the coasters. I still love the near free falls of the coasters, but am more sensitive to the coasters that have an intense vibration. At state fairs, I love the zipper but have stopped doing circular rides more intense than the tiltaworld. But that Zipper, excited

The last 2 i went to for personal enjoyment I didn't enjoy. The crowds are beyond my limits of enjoyment, can no longer just stroll and look, all I see are people's backs. I did enjoy Legoland but that's for little kids no major rides but though it was crowded moreso than i expected it was no where near as crowded as the last time i went to the fair which i don't think ill ever attend again.

I find them to be such a headache and can’t stand roller coasters. Used to love them in my teens and 20s though.

I think Disney world or Disneyland would be an exception though if I went as an adult, I can see myself enjoying there again

I don't like extreme rides and huge crowds but I love strolling at smaller fairs especially in the evening.

Toffee apples, candy floss and churros are my favourite funfair food.

Yeah I don't care for the large crowds, I find that the evenings into the night has the best sized crowds and more enjoyable

I find that the rollercoasters where my legs hang like this, I don't have the same 'feeling' that I do with the seated in cars. I enjoy these a lot more

No, I'm not a fan! These places always seem to be packed with crying, screaming kids and parents that look as though they'd like to fling themselves off a cliff. It's usually so bloody hot and crowded too. I just don't see the appeal.

You have to go at night when the crowd is different.

Yes! I used to try to get my sister or a friend to go with me and no one wanted to!! Now, I don't have to beg. Lol!! I love going to the zoo too! I love animals...except birds, their beaks scare me.
