Didn't that start in the 1980s though? There were new versions of Leave It To Beaver, Gidget, Perry Mason & Brady Bunch reunion movies, Return To Mayberry, Twilight Zone movie & TV show, Harlem Globetrotters On Gilligan's Island, Gilligan's Planet, Star Trek movies/Next Generation, etc.) In the 1990s, there were movie remakes in theaters (Beverly Hillbillies, 2 Brady Bunch movies, Little Rascals, Bad News Bears, Benji, Lassie, etc)

One of the best lines from Married...with Children came from Bud: "I was named after a beer, wasn't I Dad?" falloff

Awww, I love Bud! And he doesn't look like he's aged at all. Driving Mr. Boondy was one of the best episodes with him.

Married With Children was a show which focused way too much on one-liners (many of which weren't that funny). Overly-caricatured acting, weak stories and the same-ish themes got tiring fast. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. It has its moments, but very few of them.

^We watched about 10 minutes of the "All in the Family" re-creation and just did not feel it at all.

It's like covering a Prince song - I don't care who you are or how hard you try, you cannot do it as well as the original.

Nothing against the artists involved in these shows, but it was an impossible, thankless task to attempt.
