It will be a MASTERPIECE without him.

Thank fucking Christ for that. He was a big part of why I thought that movie was shit. Mind you, he's not the ONLY reason. The thrown together script and overall amateur feel of the whole production also played a part. The fact that they also had a potentially interesting take on the Joker and then cut out all his scenes didn't help either.

But Idris is a step in the right direction. Same guy that directed the two Guardians of the Galaxy movies is on board too so already this movie is looking promising.

There's just something about the Smith family that just doesn't work with DC projects. Will Smith seemingly did his best to ruin Suicide Squad and his wife was easily, EASILY the worst thing about Gotham. Thankfully, she's no longer part of that show.

Will Smith was not dumped.

"Variety got the scoop that the spilt was amicable, and not the result of issues over compensation, trailer size, on-set feuds or any other sort of juicy drama. Word is it simply came down to a matter of scheduling, and as Smith had never actually signed on for a sequel when joining the first film, he had to make the decision to not return."

There was a lot of things wrong with Suicide Squad, but, Will Smith was not one of them. That said, it's likely that Idris Elba will be even better. Either way, with James Gunn at the helm, the sequel is sure to be an improvement over the first film.

I thought Will backed out... But I did read he was deemed to be too light-skinned to play the dad in a movie about the Williams sisters... But his real worry is the role of the Genie. Many people losing their stuff over that!

I don't dislike Will, but Idris is a much better actor. I didn't like the movie so will likely not see the sequel anyway.

I hated the movie but its a totally different thing this time around. Different writer/director, different characters for the most part and they're no longer trying to shoehorn in references to the Justice League at the expense of the movie they're actually making. I'm not saying that it will definitely be good but given the amount of changes, I'm willing to judge it on its own merits rather than what came before.

That gives SS fans a big willie smile, the Fresh Prince was one of the worst parts of the film, when Batman landed in the alley in front of his daughter I expected him to say "aw hellll no", casting him as a 'bad guy' took me right out of the movie. Idris is a way better choice for Deadshot, hopefully he gives the character back some dignity and, you know, actual character.

Wait? Elba did not have a clause forbidding him to make a DC movie? Seems they would a have done that... it is not like his is a major role in the MCU.

Bautista is going to be in Suicide Squad 2 as well so it seems like Disney don't mind sharing certain actors. I doubt they'd allow the likes of Captain America or Iron Man to appear in other movies though.

I don't think the reason Suicide Squad turned out so shitty was because of its actors. lol

It's cute that DC's trying though.

The actors were just one of the many reasons. If DC were really serious about getting a shared movie universe off the ground they'd bring in the guys who made the 90s animated series of Batman/Superman/Justice League to oversee things.

I'll tell you what the reason is. They're all shit. Will Smith is possibly the most overrated actor in history. The only 2 movies of his that were any good were Independence Day and the first Men In Black. And neither of those movies were good because he was in them. Jada Pinkett Smith has been on a constant downward spiral since Menace to Society. And that was her first movie so basically, her career has been going downhill since day one. And neither child can sing or act.

He should be very grateful to get away from that piece of dogsshit...Thing is.... some (f***8moroNNRDDS7d77) liked it!?

Either way, with all this rewriting and nonsense and a complete new director...maybe it'll be like a completely removed film. I could never understand how anybody would want to watch that POS more than once. When a film fails substance that much, it really should be ignored and swept under the rug.

I thought Will was one of two things that were okay with that film. The other was obviously Robbie. Corny and fake as her character was, her acting helped it a bit... even with the man bashing condescending pandering calling out a guy as "a pussy"...

Lame overtly femme compensation stuff.

Anyways... not looking forward to that trash. Same with Aladdin..while we're on the subject
