If you watch the original 1954 Japanese "Gojira", you'll understand why hardcore fans like myself fell in love with the character. Godzilla KOTM and Godzilla 2014 are the American G-films us fans have waited decades for. TriStar took the 'God' out of Godzilla - Legendary put it back.

........and next year we get "Godzilla vs Kong". I'm pretty sure there'll be a teaser at the end of KOTM.

It looked cool but if they're trying to sell us that the kid ultimately has a pet Godzilla, hmmmm. Can't see it. Godzilla has no friends, is no pet, and eats everyone.

I guess it's possible that Godzilla is a vegetarian or even a vegan. He still kills humans for sport; at least, he did back in the good old days.

My favorite Godzilla villain I remember as a kid was the Smog Monster, who could kill with one whiff of his noxious body fumes...

For me, the 1954 original is still the best because of its serious tone. It's one of the few G-films where you actually see people dying from Godzilla's attacks.

He feeds on nuclear energy. Besides, at 300+ feet tall, humans wouldn't make much of a meal for him.
