I haven't seen any of these. But I'm intrigued by Winchester. I find it hard to believe any movie with Helen Mirren in the starring role could be that bad.

Amber Heard being nominated..I can see that.

I am not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that The Predator or any of Rodeo’s recommendations are not on this list?

Rodeo? What do you think of these films? Any blatant snubs?

Ah HA!

Not one mention of "The Predator" or "Halloween 2018" or "Bad Night at the El Royale" because WE ALL KNOW THOSE WERE THE TRUE PEOPLES' CHAMPION FILMS OF 2018.

thumbs up!

From what I saw - and I must stress that I did not see ANY of these movies except for "Death Wish" - well, what can I say? I guess Bruce Willis should be here? Who knows? At least he is an actual actor.

As much as I detest Donald Trump and his minions/spawn/any kind of associates at all, I don't think putting politicians on these kinds of lists makes sense. So there.

The WORST remake/rip-off of 2018 was far and away "Skyscraper". It was a total rip-off of "Die Hard" and here is how I compared those two movies:

BADA** HERO WHO HAS A LAW ENFORCEMENT BACKGROUND
"Die Hard" - A given
"Skyscraper" - A given

TAKES PLACE IN A SKYSCRAPER
"Die Hard" - Where else?
"Skyscraper" - Obvs

IS A GREAT, IF NOT THE GREATEST, CHRISTMAS MOVIE
"Die Hard" - Ho, Ho, Ho. Now I have a machine gun
"Skyscraper" - NO

HAS ARGYLE
"Die Hard" - Wouldn't be a movie without him!
"Skyscraper" - Sadly lacking Argyle or any type of Argyle equivalent

SNARKY BAD COMPUTER GUY GETS CLOCKED CLEANED BY ARGYLE
"Die Hard" - Satisfyingly YES
"Skyscraper" - Snarky computer guy escapes all recrimination

MEMORABLE LINES
"Die Hard" - Yippe Ki-yay, motherf***er; Come out to the coast, we'll have some laughs; Hans, bubby - I'm your white knight; Welcome to the party, pal!
"Skyscraper" - Daddy loves who? Daddy loves who? Daddy loves who? If you can't fix it with duct tape, you didn't use enough duct tape

REASON FOR ALL THE MAYHEM
"Die Hard" - Hans Gruber - an exceptional thief - is stealing $60 million in bearer bonds and faking his own death
"Skyscraper" - Some Belgian dude screwed up and the European Mob has told him to capture some device that has their bank account information on it

BAD GUY FALLS OUT A WINDOW AND DIES WHILE LOOKING UP AT OUR HERO
"Die Hard" - Undoubtedly YES
"Skyscraper" - One does, but the really bad girl villian gets nothing worse than a kick in the face before her arrest

HERO MEETS HIS LOCAL POLICE COUNTERPART IN THE END
"Die Hard" - Of course, where would John McLane have been without Al's help?
"Skyscraper" - Uh, sort of. Some Hong Kong cop says, "Nice to finally meet you" as The Rock sucessfully leaves the building, but actually The Rock would have absolutely no idea who this guy is, as they never interacted once throughout the entire movie

LOCAL POLICE COUNTERPART KILLS MADMAN WHO EVERYONE WRONGFULLY THOUGHT WAS DEAD
"Die Hard" - Absolutely, positively!
"Skyscraper" - Sadly, there is no appearance by a bad guy everyone thought was dead

CHANCES THAT MANY OF THE CAST WILL APPEAR IN A HOLY TRINITY OF ACTION MOVIES
"Die Hard" - Why do you think I asked that question? It already happened 30 years ago!
"Skyscraper" - Slim to none, and I think I just saw Slim leaving town

re: amber heard - i read london fields years ago when i went on a bit of a martin amis kick, & while it wasn't my favourite of his novels, i always thought it was a terrific, twisted little story, though one that seemed to be impossible to film. apparently the movie is supposed to be an absolute catastrophe, almost historically awful, but i'll still give it a watch some evening when i'm at a loss to do anything else.

I watched The Happytime Murders. It is really weird, and creepy. I think you're not supposed to like it or risk being seen as weird and creepy. Psh. I was cringing and cracking up. I guess that means I don't want it to win? smile

What?

I really enjoyed Halloween (2018) and Bad Times ... there were waaaaaay worse films out last year than those two (Fifty Shades Freed, Midnight Sun, Death Wish, Mamma Mia Here We Go Again, Suspiria). The Predator was definitely a stinker though.

And Skyscraper is firmly in the total cheese, so bad its good category for me ... plus Neve Campbell drool3 drool3 drool3

The Razzies I always find a bit of a cop out. They rarely highlight the actual worst films of the year, just the bad films that people have heard of.

My roomate swears The happytime murders is the funniest movie that she's ever seen. After renting it for like a week from the Redbox, she eventually bought it and loves to show it to any guests that come to our place. She also thought White Chicks was hilarious too.

Wow, Johnny Depp´s career has been going downhill really fast. Never would´ve thought to see that happen so quickly. Seems like a long streak of bad luck and bad decisions to me.

From the little scandal he had in Australia to his relationship problems with Vanessa Paradis and Amber Heard and then some bad movies he´s starred in.

Life is such a house of cards.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Helen Mirren is synonymous with horrible acting nuts. I heard Mr. Trump was also up for best actor in the remake of The Dictator.

Again with the Trump. They think they’re taking shots at him but it’s only shedding more light on him. If anything all these dumb celebrity jokes about Trump are only diverting public’s attention from the Russia scandal. Bet his people are appreciating any good or bad exposure of Trump as long as it’s not abt the on-going investigation...Hollywood, just lay off Trump!!! Yall are not that funny or clever!!!!

I don't think he's doing that badly. Wasn't he also in that Harry Potter prequel that came out last year?

Public perception and reality are often two different things. The public perception is that his career is fucked. The reality is that his movies are still making money and he's getting paid very well to be in them.

Both those HP sequels were dog-toffee, especially the second one ... never seen a film with so many pointless "look at what we can create with CGI" scenes. Depp was by a country mile the best thing in it ... shows he can still steal a film if he wants to.

I haven't seen either of them. I hate anything to do with Harry Potter. I'm just making the point that Johnny Depp is doing quite well, despite puplic perception. Even the last Pirates movie wasn't the flop it was made out to be.

The Fast and the Furious movies are cinematic poison but I can't help but get a kick out of some of the ridiculous action scenes. It's like they were choreographed by a 10 year old child playing with his GI Joes. I suppose there's a certain amount of entertainment that can be derived from that.

Mind you, it's nothing compared to Blue Jean Cop, One Man Force or some of those other shitty action movies from the 80s.

Gotti was so bad I stopped watching about a quarter in. I saw it because it was filmed here in Cincy. That hotel scene is a hotel I lived in for about a year.
