Thanks I watched it today and I loved it because it was so stupid, so over the top and yet it had some emotional scenes, especially involving Vanessa. Plus, the one liners had me in stitches along with the opening credit theme song sung by Celine Dion and that celeb cameo who played The Vanisher . And yes I totally agree Frozen "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" does sound like Yentl's "Papa Can You Hear Me?" I give Deadpool 2 (2018) a 5 out of 5 Finally, that post-credit was hands down the best one yet......hats off to you Mr Reynolds all is forgiven

meh...over-rated. i'll paraphrase roger ebert. a good character makes you believe they know and do things outside of what they're showing in the story. you can do that with little to no character development. this movie does not. and, really? frances mcdormand for best actress? i mean, her performance was fine...but it seemed she just showed up to work. nothing extraordinary... - why was the Vision such a useless lump in this film? In the comics and the last movie, Vision has major powers. If he can morph through walls, why would a blade injure him so badly? - what was up with the discord between Dr Strange and Tony Stark? A little forced I think. - shouldn't Thor's clothes have been burned to cinders by the sun's beam????? - WHY was Thanos given such a likeable angle????
But my nit-picking aside, the movie was fantastic! By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

But my nit-picking aside, the movie was fantastic! I think I can answer some of those questions. Vision is essentially a robot. A very advanced robot but still just a machine. You damage an important part of any machine, you take away its ability to function properly. I think Tony Stark and Dr Strange are just two characters that are completely opposite. They're never going to get on with each other. Besides, Tony is probably jealous because Dr Strange was the better Sherlock Holmes. The Spider-Man death scene was made even more heart breaking for a number of reasons. Spider-Man was the only character aware of what was happening to him because of his Spider sense. That's not me making it up, I seen an interview with the directors where they confirmed that. So he knew he was dying. And considering the character is supposed to be a kid, he reached out to the nearest adult father figure he has in a vain cry for help. Thor's clothes probably should have been burned but we're dealing with a 1000+ year old guy who comes from a place with gold castles and rainbow roads. Let's just say he's got magic or something. The Thanos thing was done on purpose. The directors said they couldn't do a movie with 30 lead characters so instead decided to make Thanos the one and only lead. They did this by showing things from his perspective and allowing him to explain his flawed reasoning for trying to bring a form of balance to the universe. He's not 100% evil. He's genuinely doing these things because he feels like he's doing the right thing. Good and bad are not always black and white.

kedi (2016) 3.5/5 documentary on stray cats in istanbul. ymmv as the kids say, but i loved watching 7 cats & how they live in istanbul for 80 minutes. the camera swoops along with them in fun ways, and it's actually quite sweet & moving to see how they impact the lives of the people they live with. ever so bleak. my god, it was bleak. tarkovsky/stalker level bleak. actully also reminded me of a darker, more emotionally true version of three billboards... but good, all the way through. interesting drifting camera shots, neat droning soundtrack. it moves at a cold, dark, methodical pace, but it seemed just right in terms of length and feel. but it's bleak.

Solo A Star Wars story 2/10 I really wanted to like this but it’s a really badly made film.i fell asleep in the middle. The music to this movie is atrocious and feels like someone sleep walked through it and amoyed the hell out of me because it was so lame, lazy and intrusive. Loved Chewbacca though.

one of the movie podcasts that i follow had leviathan as their top film of 2013 - i'd always meant to catch up with it. i'm even more interested in tracking it down, having seen loveless.

The actor's chosen religion shouldn't influence your enjoyment of his movies. All religions are wacky anyway so it's not fair to say he's a "ding doing" for believing in whatever he believes in. Besides, it's not as though the characters he's playing are scientologists.
