Comic Book Geek Theater: Cast your favorite comics as films! Okay folks, let's have some fun! Comic book geeks love to imagine their favorite comics being adapted into films. Even more, they love to dream up their own dream casts for these films. So share your thoughts! Give us your dream casts, as well as who should direct, write the script etc!
Oh, and this isn't limited to comic movies that haven't been made yet. You can propose "alternative" casts that would have made a comic movie better! Now get to it! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Please, nobody cast Dr. Manhattan...ew. yes, but I invariably disagree with Wizard's choices (and besides, most geeks I know have been doing their own dream casts since long before Wizard saw print). X-Men (with many spelling errors, i'm sure)
Professor X: Patrick Steward (duh) Cyclops: er... somebody dull, but older than the guy that did play him. Phoenix: Julianne Moore Beast: Robin Williams or Kevin Spacey Angel: Matt Damon, yum! Iceman: Sean William Scott Storm: Iman Wolverine: Russell Crowe (even though I hate him). Hugh Jackman was fine, but Crowe would be a good one too. Emma Frost: Madonna or Nicole Kidman Colossus: Vin Diesel Shadowcat: BUFFY!!! Nightcrawler: Ruper Everett Rogue: Reese Witherspoon Psylocke: Catherine Zeta Jones could pull off both the marmish and nimbo versions Gambit: Colin Farrel Bishop: Lawrence Fishburn Magneto: Ian's good... Lady Deathstrike: Lucy Liu Mystique: Angelina Jolie -- she gives off a better evil, psycho-under-the-surface vibe than Romijn-Stamos. wonder why...

Good choices! What do you think of Patrick Stewart campaigning to get a Transmet movie made with himself as Spider? Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

They should wait another year or two, then put the cast of "Smallville" into the Superman films. That would rock.

well, mine would be a japanese manga series called 'nana iro inkou' meaning (i think) bird of many/7? colors. featured a robin hood type of criminal (master genius type) who'd rob banks/steal things. then his true love, a young female cop, would chase him down attempting to bring him to justice. it was fun, as much of it as i understood anyway
jackie chan and cynthia rothrock could play the parts

I think that Dr. Strange would make a great movie...starring perhaps George Clooney as the cloaked sorcerer.
Also...I'm dying to see Doc Octopus in a future Spider Man film. Can't think of who should portray him though. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Alfred Molina is playing the bad doctor in The Amazing Spider-Man. Here's a pic from the set, along with a woman playing Rosalind Octavius (I'll find out the name of the actress in a bit, and let you know): Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. I've read it. I enjoyed, but I thought the ending was painfully predictable. I was dissapointed, because it was so trite for an otherwise cool series. of course, Ennis is planning on a new Preacher series for the coming year, so maybe some of the loose ends will be explained (like where the hell did Genesis go?). In the meantime, a flick is in the works! Read on: 04/17/03 12:40pm Some more news, for fans of the Garth Ennis/ Steve Dillon comic Preacher: James Marsden Talks Preacher Thursday, April 17, 2003 8:14 CDT X2 star James Marsden, aka Cyclops, talked to MTV about Preacher, the adaptation of the Garth Ennis comic which will be directed by Rachel Talalay. "Right now it's in one of those weird Hollywood states where financing is still kind of questionable at this point," explained the 29-year-old actor as he relaxed in his hotel room, dressed in a dark shirt and jeans. "But they keep threatening to start [filming] in June, so if they do it, I'm thrilled to be a part of it." The actor said it was the book's mature themes and complex character dynamics that attracted him to the material. "I [like] the maturity of the relationship between Tulip and the Preacher, the mix between the issues that it deals with, that it’s kind of a Western and that he walks around with the image of John Wayne around him. "I also like the bravery in Garth Ennis' writing. He’s not afraid to tackle the hypocrisies of modern religion and things like that. A couple of people have said, ‘Boy, if Garth Ennis had created a religion, I would sure like to be a part of that.’ It just makes sense, the way he tackles things in it. It's really heavy stuff [and] it's incredibly well written."
