If Eli was 27, then yes, trade down. But he's near the end, and the chance to draft another franchise QB don't come along often. I don't want my team to be in QB hell like the Jets, Dolphins, Bills & Browns - one mediocre QB after another.
Now if Gettleman feels Davis Webb is the real deal, then your scenario might happen. But he better be right.
Oh, I'm with you. I think drafting a potential franchise QB is best considering Eli's age and the relative youth of the Eagles and Cowboys. But if they are not going to get a franchise QB, they should trade down and help protect the guy they have.
As for Webb, the lower-round guy in the bullpen almost never works out.
That's why this draft is so intriguing...teams looking to trade up or down. And what will the Browns do?
Free agency is just around the corner too.... |

It's no guarantee the Jags will do what they've done this past season next season
Every team in the division was broke down except Tennessee. They won't sneak up on anyone.
Let Houston get healthy and stay that way next season. Lookout!
OK phunkdaddy and babynoz what should the Steelers look at for the draft. I'm guessing "trying" to replace Shazier (which is not easy) a QB (keep Dobbs, get rid of Jones), CB or Safety. What you think |

With Bennett to go along with Cox & Graham, Philly's got a serious pass rush.....Giants BETTER fix that o-line. Speaking of NY, they added LB Alec Ogletree. For some dumb reason, they're switching to a 3-4......they need all the LB help they can get. |

I can see it because (1) they see Cousins as an upgrade over Keenum; (2) Bradford's injury history is a red flag; and (3) after Bridgewater's horrific injury he may never be the same player again, and hasn't really played in 3 years.

MIN may be thinking the same thing about Keenum that WSH felt about Cousins -- maybe his great season was a flash in the pan.

PHI's rookie rusher Barnett is gonna be a monster on the edge.
I can see why the Jints went to 3-4. With the champs running so many spread formations and RPOs in PHI, and DAL and WSH looking to air things out or get the ball to their RBs in space, they need more edge players who can play in space.

As a WSH fan, I'm with you. They gambled that Cousins wasn't the guy and slid Smith in to replace him. I don't blame MIN for wondering whether Keenum can do it again, but as you said, it's a gamble to let him walk for Cousins. Good thing the pool of average/above-average QBs in free agency is deep this year, if MIN misses on their own guys AND Cousins.

Sherman may help, or hurt. He's one of the smartest and most astute players in the game. But he's also been smack dab in the middle of the Seahawks' squabbling. His contract is incentive-laden, so maybe he'll find a good balance between speaking up, speaking out, and producing on the field. He's smart and talented enough to do that.
OBJ and LT (the best football player I've ever watched) are different situations. Thank GOODNESS social media, especially Snapchat and "The Gram", weren't around then.
But I'm with you -- there are 31 other teams out there that would kill for a home-run hitter like OBJ. This WSH fan says, go right ahead and trade him out of the East . . . or to us!

Solder is CLEARLY an upgrade. Do they shift Flowers to guard or the right side? Some talking heads believed Flowers made progress last year.
Stewart is basically cannon fodder to grind out short-to-medium yardage and reduce hits on Eli. The draft, and indeed, the careers of several QB prospects hinge on the Jints' choice between Barkley and Rosen at 2.
Rodgers is going to have a field day with Graham.

I wish Ereck "The Human Turnstile" Flowers was off the team, but the coaching staff will probably shift him to the right side.
I'd love to see the Honey Badger in a Giants uniform, but he wants too much loot. Interesting that Danny Amendola signed with Miami. I wonder who'll take a chance on Suh?

The Jints will find a way to use him at least for 2018.
Honey Badger is going to find out his worth in short order.
Maybe Amendola wanted to control his situation. Everybody's expendable in NE.
I hate to say it, but maybe DAL?
