You beat Brady the same way you beat history's elite West Coast QBs. You sack or pressure him from the middle of the pocket. That limits his ability to see the field and step into his throws. The Eagles' D-Line is good enough and deep enough to bring some heat.

You also have to play smart, situational football.....aggressive, but don't get cute like Pete Carroll and Dan Quinn.

Carroll and Quinn (or maybe Bevel and Shanahan) outsmarted themselves. The Pats get inside your head so much, especially in big games, that as you said, opponents lose sight of the situation.

They do the opposite. They beat Jacksonville with a power-I play that looked like it was straight out of an 80's college game to get a 1st and run out the clock. That was textbook situational football.

But the buck stops with the head coach - it was up to Carroll & Quinn to rein in their OCs. And Russell Wilson deserves blame too - shit, he's the QB - audible to a run or a sneak.

Awhile back, I was listening to Carl Banks talk about Belichick when he was the Giants DC. During SB XXV week, he told the defense they have to let Thurman Thomas get 100 yards rushing. They looked at Belichick like he was crazy, but eventually they understood the gameplan (better to deal with Thomas than Buffalo's potent passing attack). Keep the ball out of Jim Kelly's hands as much as possible, and punish the receivers when they make the catch. Belichick's attention to detail and preparation is second to none. Opposing coaches really have to step up their game against this guy. That's why I think Tomlin could be in trouble if Pittsburgh stumbles again next season.

Don't disagree.

SB XXV is still the greatest Super Bowl ever. Maybe the greatest game of my lifetime.

If they don't keep Brady under pressure and off balance he will analyze them, pick them apart and beat them.

I mean I approve. It was not too much and not too little. Not a Hologram. And the projecting of the PR clip worked well with the silhouette from 2007.
