Two words for any crying, bitch-ass Pats fan - Tuck Rule.
You couldn't play any better than Foles did - and brilliant, aggressive play-calling by Pedersen. These AFC coaches (Tomlin, Marone, Reid, etc.) should watch this over and over. |

Actually, no, they're tied with the Broncos. Also, a lot of those games had nothing to do with this team. You seem to be forgetting that this team, Belichick and Brady anyway, has been to eight Super Bowls and won five times. How many times have the Eagles gone to the Super Bowl? And let me know when you win your second. Hate on hater, but damn, do a better job with the fact checking.
For the record, I'm not even a Patriots fan. Go Niners!
OK tied for the worse Super bowl record, I can live with that. Why do you think I don't know that Belichick and Brady has been to eight Super Bowls and won five times (and lost 3 times which you forgot to mention). For the record my team has won their second superbowl back in 1976 (We have more rings than your Niners ). I'm a Steeler fan and if you would have read these threads you would have known that. And yes I hate the Patriots. |

Well, the Pats last two Super Bowl wins were gifts from Pete Carroll and Dan Quinn. Unlike those clowns, Pedersen called a smart game. |

Actually, now that you mention it I do remember that you're a Steelers fan. I didn't fail to mention that they've lost three, I just didn't think it was particularly important (and also obvious). No other team has been to eight Super Bowls in the period of time this Patriot's team has, nor has any team won five during that stretch. That's why so many people hate the Patriot's, one would imagine. Steeler's are a great team, never said otherwise. Also never mentioned anything about the Niner's Super Bowl wins or claimed they were any good. We've been rotten dog ass bad for more years than I care to remember. I watched our Super Bowl wins and for sure they are a very distant memory at this point. We had a chance for some good years with Kaepernick, but after the Super Bowl year they forced him to completely change his playing style and it was all down hill from there.

Yes over these threads I have always mentioned that the Patriots has the best coaching staff (coach QB combo) and they always out play the Steelers. Tomlin is no Belichick. With your new QB there I think the Niners will move up to the third spot in the NFC west (maybe even to 2nd spot). Rams are young and very talented, who knows. |

I think we'll be better, I'm not sure how much better just yet. Jimmy Garoppolo is good, but as much as I hate using this term, the sample size is still very small. The guy hasn't even played one full season. He's going to lose games eventaully and we've yet to see how he'll bounce back from that. Also, we're still missing a lot of pieces (and gave up our upcoming second round pick to get Garoppolo) and I don't completely love our unproven coaching staff. But yeah... we should be better that stinking rotten dog ass bad. I'd much rather be in the position the Steelers are in where you pretty much assume you'll be in the playoffs most every year.

The Eagles cement the status of the NFC East as the greatest division in the Super Bowl era. It's been a stumbling block for 2 great dynasties -- the Niners and the Pats. Every team now has a Lombardi.
As for the game itself -- it felt like a Madden rookie-level demo where the teams just continued to score on each other.
As a lot of the analysts said this morning, the Eagles were the first team to make a big defensive play, and that won the game. The offensive lines for both teams up to that point were outstanding.
As for the Patriots, they've got nothing to be ashamed of. I'm not a huge fan of these Pats, but to make 3 of the last 4 Super Bowls and win 2 is a heck of an accomplishment. This doesn't change anything about Brady's legacy, though I'd still take Joe Montana over him all day every day. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I'm not salty about anything - low salt diet here. People are completely irrational with the Patriot's hate and quite oftgen talk nonsense out their neck. We ARE talking about what they've done in the past because their past is still their present. They are still in the middle of one of the greatest dynasties in all professional sports. Anybody who can look at it objectively can't argue otherwise. I absolutely detest the San Antonio Spurs, but I don't spew nonsense and made up in hindsight "facts" because of those feelings. They've been a great team for 20 years. Nobody gift wraps anything for any team. That's sports. More often than not it's ONE PLAY that changes everything or makes a difference. It doesn't make a team any more or less great when that happens, it just is. As an example, I'm sure Patriot's fans are saying, "but if Brady hadn't been stripped and fumbled on that one play." Doesn't matter, that play happened. Lastly, I don't hate teams because they're good. Never have and never will. Makes absolutely no sense to dislike a team because they've achieved excellence. As someone who has been a Warriors fan (HARD CORE, former season ticket holder) since 1987 I'm now dealing with this on a constant basis as the haters continue to grow. I just sit back, laugh and wonder where all those haters were during the 30 years we sucked.
I will say though, Spy Gate was dirty. No argument for that. But everything else they've done is whatever. Congrats to the Eagles for beating them, job well done.

Neither does Brady, but the irrational haters don't take notice of that. Brady was asked about it repeatedly the last week and he repeatedly said he views other QBs as greater than him. He's been saying it for years.

I think we need to talk Super Bowl Era v. All-Time.
Johnny U and Otto Graham dominated their eras, and it would have been interesting to see what they'd have done in this era. I think both could have dominated in any era.
Personally, I take Joe as my All-Time greatest. He was undefeated in Super Bowls, was always clutch on the big stage, and set records for passer ratings in his era. He would have won even bigger in this passer-friendly era. He's still the face of the West Coast offense that took passing to a new level, beyond what Otto and Johnny U did.
But TB12's case is strong, and I can see why people regard him as the greatest of the Super Bowl Era. To be the MVP at 40 is unthinkable. He's shattered a lot of passing records. He's been to twice as many Super Bowls as Joe, and the personnel he's played with throughout his career has not been as good as Joe's. He's lost 3 times to NFC East teams, but hey, NFC East teams kept Joe *out* of the Super Bowl.

First of all, you're as big a honk for the NFC East as I am for the SEC. Game respects game!
My two cents go with Tom Brady. He's been to more Super Bowls than anyone, and no quarterback has won more than he. Turnover on sports teams is very high. I bet that the total number of different players on the eight teams which Brady has quarterbacked to the Super Bowl is way north of 300. Given that the maximum number would be 8 x 53 = 424, that would mean that he was the one constant and therefore the main reason for 8 Patriots Super Bowl appearances.
It's mind-boggling IMO and I would not be surprised if he gets Super Bowl 9/Win 6 in 2019.
