the only times i have actually got to sleep

was while i was fully dressed for a blizzard

(i'm in so cal)

i ain't the only one either...

i took the fukkkin shot!!!

I TOOK THE FUKKKIN SHOT!!!

now here i lay in my misery thinkin of the people

i know and know of and namin those i wouldn't

wish this on...

don't fret it... most of y'all made it, but if you still

get sick it's what you get for bein close with one

of the few that ain't make my cut....

the weird part about the flu symptoms is that is your own body's response! It is like collateral damage!

All joking aside, "why" you should quit smoking is because dying of cancer is not fun. The only thing worse than dying of cancer is dying of Lou Gehrig's disease. Go to a hospital and look around.

Are you guaranteed not to get cancer if you quit smoking? No, there are no guarantees. But there are odds, and you have better odds of avoiding cancer if you quit than if you don't.

Plus, you'll smell better and have more money in your pocket!

So, sorry ya'll have been hit by the flu bug! And here I've been complaining about feeling miserable because of allergy-induced sinusitis. Hope y'all feel better soon!

A somewhat quick, short story.

Yesterday i had a doctor's appointment to get hooked up with a primary care doctor(recently moved back to San Diego), and to hopefully get a flu shot. So, i get to the clinic and they get around to checking my blood pressure. And its 223/110 . Well then... the nurse precedes to walk out of the room, and the doctor comes in and basically says to me, you need to go to the emergency room to get your blood pressure down. I don't feel comfortable treating you here... And me, I'm thinking to myself, damn, i don't wanna go to the hospital...However, I've been feeling like crap lately, so i decided that i do need to go. So they call an Ambulance(another ), and while I'm being transported, they(ambulance techs) check my glucose level(I'm a diabetic, as well), and its 450 ... And I'm like, another damn. I am dying...

So, basically, It's my fault that my health issues have gotten to the point that they have. Over the past couple years or so, i pretty much stopped taking my meds, figuring that i didn't really need them. But roughly around the last 6 months, things have gotten worse(i could tell by the way that I've felt). Me being a man though, i hate going to the doctor. My thinking was, i look fairly healthy(about 6ft, 218 pounds), and feel somewhat ok, so fuk going to the doctor. Not realizing though, all the damage that was being done internally(organs).


Anyway. I get to the hospital and a large number of people were there because of the flu. And damn near everyone was walking around with masks on(including the doctors and nurses). And me, I'm laying there, hoping i don't get sick, being around all those carriers.

As soon as i finish this post, I'm headed to the pharmacy to get my prescriptions filled. And to hopefully get that flu shot. If not, then I'm assed out until Monday or Tuesday...



Here in San Diego County, this years flu season has been the deadliest on record. And I'm sure its hitting other areas just as hard. So you all take care, and do what you can to not get sick...And to the people who are already sick. Positive thoughts and well wishes.

I'm glad you brought up a topic that is very important, not only during this flu season, but for people facing continuing health issues--DON'T SLACK OFF ON YOUR MEDICAL TREATMENT! For people who have diabetes, high blood pressure, and other issues like auto-immune diseases, they are more susceptible to the dire consequences of flu epidemics and others than the general population. You mentioned you stopped taking your meds (I assume for diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.). Please don't. My late best friend who passed away two years ago had diabetes and high blood pressure, assumed after she "reversed" diabetes (her blood sugar and blood pressure went back to normal levels) that she could stop taking the meds and go back to her old health habits. She stopped taking them, didn't see the doctor, and suddenly passed away at the age of 54. Don't do this, please. I still miss her. Take care of your health, folks.

My mum only smoked for 20 years and died in her early 40s. You win some, you lose some.

It's the luck of the draw--my ex-husband's father smoked for 60 years...and passed away from cancer unrelated to cigarettes in his late 80s. It's a health-crap-shoot really...if you wanna take your chances...

What kind of cancer would that be? Smoking is implicated in more kinds of cancer than just lung cancer.
