That's not so strange nowadays. My husband for instance does not watch t.v. He gets everything he needs off the internet. Also, we have Roku if we want to stream movies. I only have a few t.v. programs that I watch and maybe the local news and that's it.

To answer OPs question, I'm not owning a TV anymore. In the past I was watching several hours daily, but I got rid of mine ~7-8 years ago. Now I'm an internet addict, not that much better

if we say 'tv', what exactly do we mean these days?

A big flatscreen with an internet connection is a tv, or is it more a giant computer where you watch intenret stuff? Which is bascially the same as wacthing a smartphoner, only bigger.

Or is a tv 'that thing that displays what goes via cable or satellite'?

In the second case, i watch only some sports games on tv.

I was trying to say why be so technical about? A tv isn't nothing more than a monitor that has moving pictures projected on it. Based on what most people are posting, devices with monitors are still being used frequently so I don't see the difference between the time spent on the tradition tv and the new tech. "call it a day" is a figure of speech. I meant basically to sum it up , complete it or end it.

You said it there's more devices recording you, so of course there's more cases of mishaps being broadcast for the world to see, it's not like mishaps are a new thing. Only before the noisy neighbor say you be a complete idiot, not the entire world. There is a big increase in death by auto accidents. Teens, higher performance vehicles and devices are not a good mix. Yet even by the chart there were a ton more deaths in the 70s than there are today, due to mandatory seatbelt use. And even still more tech is coming out to help counteract the foolishness of some people's attention spans.
