ON THIS DAY - 1990

Pretty Woman was number 1 at the box office
Sinead O'Connor was number 1 in the chart with Nothing Compares 2 U
Liverpool were closing in on winning what is now called The English Premier League (yuck)

So... Not much happened on the day I was born...

I was born around 4:30pm Irish time so, if I'm getting the time difference right, Wheel of Fortune was airing as I was being born. Either that or Family Feud. Both of which kind of sums up my life to this point. smile

April 27 1990 was 3 days away from my 14th birthday. I was in 3rd form at High School (Grade 8 American, high school is 5 years here) and loving Milli Vanilli and MC Hammer. I actually thought Nothing compares 2 U was boring at the time. Even now its not a song of Prince's I like much, although the Family's version is the best one of the Three (Prince and Rosie, Sinead, Family)

Discovering Prince fandom was still 18 months in the future for me. Prince was gearing up for the Nude tour and had nothing in the charts at the time. The last single Scandalous, had dropped off the charts in December 1989 and Thieves in the Temple was a few months off.

I turned on the TV just the other day Flicked through some channels And u know what ?????? No much has changed!!!! lol

Well all those prime time shows listed above are gone. Most of the soaps are gone. New hosts for Price is Right, Family Feud, Tonight show, Late Night. Is 20/20 still on??? The only show that is pretty much the same from 1990 as listed above (No Simpsons/ 60 minutes/Jeopardy) is Wheel of fortune.

Yes, actually that was my 1st thought when I heard it, too. Specially with that teary-eyed video n all.
