Anybody watching the FX / BBC show "Taboo" starring Tom Hardy, Oona Chaplin and Jonathan Pryce? It's batshit crazy. If you like Tom Hardy, you'll like this. Menacing grunts and stares everywhere. He is INTENSE.

Before the premiere, I looked at early reviews to see if I might be wasting my time and while most were positive, one negative review said it was "slow, dark and humorless" which didn't sound bad at all to me. So I went all in. It's great.

Although some accents, particularly Atticus' I find almost unintelligible so I watch with subtitles.

Haha, yes, and I'm not a native speaker... WTF is going on, I have to read about it later. Sometimes that helps.

This looks fantastic!

We're up to episode 7 (of 8) in then UK at the moment. Its been a brilliant series.

i'm semi-retired, and i can't keep up with all the tv/movies that keep flooding in.

this does look great though, and if/when it makes its way to the streaming services, i'll definitely give it a go.

The Americans is a show I'd like to see if I ever found the time. However, five seasons in, that's a lot of time to find.

i watched the first 1/2 of s1 of the americans shortly before christmas, & i thought it was really terrific, but i got pulled away from it by some seasonal work and i haven't made my way back to it yet. hopefully i will some day. i'm a little intimidated by having 5 yrs to get through, but i've heard that it's only improved as it's gone along.
