How many of you have started your annual "I will not be a fat ass" routine for the summer? I started mine today...

If you are anything like me, you work out like a monster during the spring and summer months and then slack off like a lazy bum during the winter months as it gets colder.

Last summer:

149 pounds with 4.7% body fat

Today:

160 pounds with 11.1% body fat

You can see how I totally fuck myself during the winter months... I eat at Taco Bell non-stop, I go to tons of Mexican food restaurants and I don't really work out much.

Well... ENOUGH OF THAT SHIT! Today I started back on the road to not being a fat ass.

I am starting slow and I will work up to my normal summer routine. Today's workout started with a nice, leisurely ride of about 35 miles on the bike, burning approximately 850 calories and maintaining an average heart rate of approximately 185 bpm. I am in "cool down" phase right now, after which I am going to do 100 sit-ups, followed by a full routine on the weights using light weights... probably around 100 repetitions of each exercise.

I should be very sore tomorrow and I should want to die... this is PERFECT!

Who else is going to torture themselves soon in order to not become a behemoth?

I started mine yesterday and it feels great! (I'm sore as fuck, but it's a good pain!)

I'm off to work at summer camp in West Virginia on May 1st, where I will be in charge of a crew of 3 workers, preparing the camp for when the staff and kids arrive on June 16th. We have no TV, we are 30 miles from the nearest town and we only have the food that we will buy from Walmart on a weekly basis (no junk food, no take-aways). This might seem crazy to a lot of you, but I can't wait for the complete isolation. We have a weights gym, all kinds of sporting equipment (including canoes, a climbing wall, tennis courts, swimming pools, etc) to share between 3 of us. I'm going to have nothing else to do, but get my fat-ass fit! (Having already worked there for the last 3 years, I'm totally aware of the boredom factor)

I can't wait until then and in the meantime, I am back at the gym on an almost daily basis, readying myself for my training camp! woot!

(35 mile bike ride, Ice? Bloody hell! omg )

Excellent! It must be really cool working there... being isolated... you can't help but work out a lot, as there are no real distractions. Man, I would love it!

Getting back in shape is a lot of fun... I really love the sickening, horrible pain in the morning! Sometimes I like to work out until it feels like I have been beaten up with a baseball bat.

*I ride about 100 - 150 miles on weekends during the summer*

They will be incline sit-ups... I have one of those cool incline benches. I can make myself want to throw up using that thing!

Unfortunately, it is not adjustable... it hangs around at about 30 degrees and stays right there...

Progress report:

I will not make my goal of 100 repetitions of all exercises... I am on another break between sets... I have completed 30 repetitions and I am NOT going to make the 100. I will probably make 60, but I will certainly not make 100.

I am a complete and utter failure.

sad

What's worse is that the sit-ups are last... I most certainly WILL throw up today...

You're short and you're fat, Tony. Nothing will change that, no matter how often you put on your tight little skimpy outfits and pedal your little pink bicycle with training wheels.

Final weight update:

I am a loser... I only did 50 reps of each exercise and I still feel like I am about to throw up. I can't believe how far out of shape I have gotten... damn.

Now... on to the sit-ups. This will be fucking hell... I will probably not make my 100 there either.

sad

I'm working on my annual "I will not be a skinny ass" routine for the year.

I'm lifting a spoonful of cereal to my mouth as we speak... I'll get in 20 or so reps, and pour another bowlful...

I just started. But the other way around from most people.
My ass is always way too skinny. 1.80 mtrs and 65kg it's
usually at the end of winter.

So I've been eating like a madman, or perhaps an American,
and managed to put on a few extra kilo's. I'm now at 71Kg.

Which is fine.
