Me too. Instead of even biscuits which have sugar in them, I'm having this "digestive, fibrous" thing.... pretty good, yeah?

I went to McDonald's yesterday after work for the first time in about 3 years, and it was SO GODDAMN GOOD. . The greatest vision of heaven I've ever seen depicted was in Albert Brooks' "Defending Your Life" (where you can eat ANYthing and AS MUCH as you want and never gain weight and always feel great). . I've gained sooooo much weight this year. It sucks..

In autumn/winter/spring I walk around the lake with the Heart Foundation Walking Group a couple of times a week, and in summer I do water aerobics. I also have also cut back on junk food especially at work. Its not easy to break old habbits (eg, those late night binges when I'm [Edited 11/24/16 20:39pm] [Edited 11/24/16 22:59pm] Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

I took my own advice and set my New Year's Resolution over the weekend. Here it is:

It begins. | |

Stairs climbed! Total of 203 steps, from the ground to the 17th floor. It doesn't sound like much but DANG it was hard. I tried to do it slow so as not to work up a sweat, but I still got a little glow. This might impact the days on which I do this.

Love the photo PJedi! I'm going to say that is in the Schwangunk Mountain range near the Mohonk Preserve. I lived near the area for 10 years.

Love this thread! Get it Workout Warriors! I've lost 20lbs and 3 sizes this year....yeah, doesn't sound like much, but for someone 5'2" it makes a BIG difference. However, my goal was NOT to lose weight or "get in shape".....the goal was to feel good, have fun, and to be healthy in a way that works for ME. And what works for me is
Weight Watchers--I am freaking lucky that this is free for me through my employer. I do the online version and it has lots of information, tips, tricks, etc. I needed to SEE what my food choices looked like and to know that NOTHING is off limits. And if I'm craving that piece of chocolate cake...I'm having that cake without the endless guilt. I feel like I'M in control!
FitBit--Again, I need to SEE what I am doing. WW has a way to sync the FB app to your program so you can get a total picture of energy consumed vs energy spent. It's like a game to me. My goal everyday is 10K and my way of getting that is hooping. Hula hooping with a weighted hoop.
Now I effing HATE to excercise! I effing HATE to sweat! So how do I solve that equation? I combine something I like to do with some sort of fun exercise. BOOM! Hoop while watching TV or pull up something on your computer that you haven't seen and go to town. Now it's a habit. Watching CNN? Grab that hoop and get some time in. Wanna see the football game? Holy cow, you can get your full 10k in on that! Move the hoop up and down your torso, let it fall around your bum and hips. Excellent core muscle exercise...but WTH....you're just watching TV. Now it's a habit! I'm at 120lbs and am satisfied with that. Will still do WW just because it is free and is now a habit. Not into the emaciated model look. Looking now for some arm hoops to build up some upper body stregnth.
Warning: Do not attempt extreme weighted hooping on a full bladder or around copious amounts of glass or small children!!! Style is the second cousin to class

It is a lot easier than you think! The kid's plastic ones with no weight will be nearly impossible for a first timer. The weighted ones are easier. If right-handed, spinning right to left is the easiest. Once comfortable with that start the opposite direct for a challenge. Expect some bruising at first around any bony areas (pelvis) but in time it will go away.
The fitbit is a key componet (to me) of quantifying activity. Hubby got one too and started challenging me. His activity is either walking (mostly at work...multi-tasking) and doing an elliptical. He changed his eating habits just to eating very little for the evening meal. His step count is usually 20K/day. Hoser!!!
He has lost 60lb. Dad bod and then some! And yeah if he wants that bear claw with his coffee, he'll get it. His motivation was to feel good on a high-stress job where an 8hr day it is exception...10-12hr is the norm. I metioned how good I felt after changing some of my habits and that's when he decided he wanted a change for himself too.
We purged our closets during Thanksgiving. Someone at GoodWill got very lucky! [Edited 12/8/16 12:55pm] Style is the second cousin to class

I do 15x3, with long gaps in the middle,...to catch my breath... burpees are like, you get down and kick your legs back (in push up position), kick them forward again, and jump up - that's the best I can describe it - maybe if you Google it, you'll get a illustration or video or something....
