The Walkind Dead mid season finale

What's wrong with all of you guys, the last episode of this year came and went and nobody says a thing about it. So, i'm surprise Spencer died in such way, i mean it was not how he planned it to be. And at the very end we see Rick finally gettin out of his lethargy, Rick is back again boys, his sipirt has been lifted up once again. Beautiful those last minutes. Watch out fuckin Negan, my boys are goin to get you sooner or later.

Comic book spoiler: It's still going to be another year or so before Negan is dead. We know he dies, as does Ezekiel at some point, with his head ending up on a stake.

Show spoiler discussion: Rick finding his guts, after Spencer lost his, is a bit too neat. It was too tidy and predictable. The end of Batman vs. Superman was more unexpected. Rick's been so inconsequential this season. It's been about Daryl, and a bit about Carol. We've barely seen Ezekiel.

So, February will tell how well this plays out. But Rick & the gang have a fight ahead of them.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I thought the episode was great. A lot of people have stopped watching after the first couple episodes of the new season because, with the exception of the premiere, the episodes were slow, boring or the pacing was off. Those are a few of the reasons I've been hearing. I still love the show. Hopefully when it returns in February the ratings will improve.

I was wondering why we couldn´t post on that other thread anymore. It was only 13 pages long, and there have been threads with more than 13 pages.

Anyway...I really liked the latest episode because they finally managed to combine the several storylines into one. I don´t mind the occasional "special" episode dedicated to a single character but this season it was a bit too much for my taste and slowed down the plot.

But in this episode we got a little bit of Carol and Morgan in the Kingdom, a lot of Negan, a lot of Daryl and some news from Maggie and the Hilltop community, and yes, Rick seems to have woken up again. wink

And the most interesting factor, in my opinion, was the introduction of that new character in the woods...the owner of the houseboat and his mysterious note. I wonder what that is about , and what the surprise will be. Maybe the weapons are manipulated. I don´t know. But it definitely added an air of mystery and more thrill to the show.

Many people are complaining about the show and the ratings are a bit low these days but I think it´s perfectly normal for a TV show to have a change in pace and to slowly build up a storyline.

I'm glad I fought through my frustration of this season and kept tuning in. I loved this episode. You got a little bit of everything. My takeaways:

-I don't know why, but I sense a heartfelt chemistry between Carol and Morgan. I love how they both have these internal struggles yet push each other away. I get the feeling that these two are going to get pretty close. I'm not saying romantically per se though.

-The Savior that was in the car with Michionne saddened me. I guess I feel some type of way when a person feels defeated and no longer fears dying...even if its by their own hand.

-Why didn't Carl and Enid kiss at the end? Too cheesy huh?

-When Michionne was talking to Rick near the end of the episode, I got nervous. She started out as if she was giving him the "it's me, not you" talk. lol But it ended up being totally different.

-I knew Spencer was going to go. lol It was obvious.

-So Rosita's one and only shot gets stuck in the bat? Are you kidding me?

-I could feel the turnaround in Rick once he got that familiar look in his eyes and cocked his head to the side. lol It was over!!! The scared, lets-go-along-with-the-program Rick is gone.

-Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy that Daryl was able to escape from the Saviors, but am I the only one who thought that it was way too easy?

-That hug between Rick and Daryl....touched

-So will Gregory finally get the ass whoopin' he deserves?

-And lastly, that Andrew Lincoln...drool Much too sexy!!!! spank razz

Yes, actually it was way too easy, but i think it was because he got help from someone else.

It was a beautiful scene, the two of them huggin, kissin, touchin and squeezin and... ok no but it was a great scene.

KoolEaze, all threads on the org "time out" after 2 months and lock at that point...it automatically happens to all of them. That is the reason why the other thread isn't accessible anymore, it's past the two month point from when it was started.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

meh. i loved the first six seasons but honestly the mid-season finale just didn't persuade me to stand up and dance.

i get that Alexandria is pretty cool, but still - what kind of new world are these guys trying to build? one where they savagely attack people who are asleep? one where they wage bigger and bigger and bigger wars??? meh again.

even though in a way i'm glad to see the gang is back i don't really care much about them the way i did for the earlier seasons, where they had not yet become the evil they were fighting against.

for me personally, i'd rather see them pack up and move on to a safer and better place to create a world where war is obsolete.

especially at this point in our political and world timeline. i guess i'm just sick of all the violent war-like offerings in the 'entertainment' world right now. it's just endless.

lol lol lol clearly, i never quite grasped the premise of the comic book series. lol

But this unrealistic. lol No matter where they pack up and move to, there will always be some group who was there first, protecting the "line in the sand" that they have created and built. Some groups are good, but most they've encountered haven't been good at all. I think the series has proven this over and over again. Now, instead of packing up and moving along, I believe they will be collaborating with the other "good" groups to fight the one humongous evil group to stop the growing havoc getting out of control.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

yes, over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. ad infinitum. my point exactly. more of the same and more of the same.....

mind you, i was glad to see the group reunite and daryl make his way home (i might change my mind in february and tune back in just to see daryl's unsleeved muscles again. so yummy).

and i do understand what you're saying but that's actually the point i was making above. i've seen enough of this project. the mindset of the writers is set. the series is done and dusted. the comics have already been written and the plot line established. the entire concept is based on post-apocolyptic violence and conflict between differenct social groups struggling to survive.

so given the way things have been going, it's likely that in season 1,684 these characters will be old and grey, hobbling about on canes and barely able to swing a walker-basher but still fighting away. lol

however, as i mentioned above, (and this is my point) i've simply lost interest for now. it seems like more of the same, again and again and again. over and over and over and over as you pointed out.

so for me, (and here i am expressing my personal taste and opinion rather than a topic to argue about), because i'm tired of the continual head-bashing-eye poking-ear stabbing endless violence i'm off to watch stories of folks in futuristic, post-apocolyptic settings who work cooperatively toward mutual survival.

remember, with fiction anything is possible. it is simply a matter of which projects we choose to immerse ourselves in. thumbs up!

I agree that it is getting repetitive. I wish Rick would get killed and someone else would take charge. I haven't read the other thread so I apologise if I'm repeating what has already been said but I've found myself getting really annoyed at the method of killing the zombies in this series. In previous series the brain had to be destroyed to stop them coming back again, yet in this one they seem to be stabbing them elsewhere on the body - such as in the throat. Continuity matters.

lol That's another thing that used to bug me. The main characters too - they often wear clean clothes which look freshly pressed. I mean, come on! I also don't think the zombies that have been dead for a long time would have red blood, more a brown, green colour.

Some of the main characters are probably a bit smelly, too. Those who don´t have 24/7 access to water like the ones in Alexandria have.

it's a little mean to bash the show, since i love the characters and all. that being said - how on earth could anyone who has survived the zombie apocolypse and spent two years scavenging around for food while constantly on the run from danger be even slightly chubby? giggle

imo, all of the survivors should be super lean and/or gaunt by now.

but it's all good. the show is great and the personality of the characters and actors playing those parts more than makes up for occasional continuity flaws, imo

This one confused me ... I'm fairly up to date with the comics (end of Compendium 3) but I can't work out who this might be. My only guess is that its another new character that isn't in the comics.

Would that be even possible, chronologically speaking?

The FTWD story is not that far ahead yet, so seeing those characters in TWD would mean omitting or rather, fastforwarding most of the FTWD storyline in order for the characters to show up in TWD. Watching the FTWD show would then be a bit pointless.

Yes Walking Dead is 5 years into the future of FTWD. Honestly I don't think FTWD will make 5 seasons.

Come on, give them a chance to warm up a bit. lol

.

Maybe the show will get more exciting as those guys´ story unfolds. What I like about FTWD is that it takes us back to how the epidemic began and it shows us different locations such as California and Mexico and how people there cope with the apocalypse.

What I don´t like is that some of the more interesting characters, such as the one played by Ruben Blades, are already gone. neutral

It´s interesting that the same people who make TWD can make FTWD a bit boring. Wonder why that is?

I like FTWD. You can still have a cross over if both shows are on at the same time. How long does it takes to drive from California/Mexico to Georgia? You could have it where Travis decides to head East to check things out. Doesn't mean Travis will stay there.
